“Try it on. Here,” he said, taking the bracelet and sliding it ontoher arm, then he pressed a tender kiss to the inside of her wrist before letting go. Gooseflesh rippled over her from head to toe.

“What do you think?”

“Hmm?” She was still reeling from the kiss.

“Do you like the bracelet?”

She looked in the mirror at the Sleeping Beauty turquoise bracelet in the shape of flowers all around her wrist. “It’s gorgeous.” And something she’d love to wear. Something that was actuallyher. Not the plain professional she’d been playing for the last year. It was time to return to just being her.

“Then it’s yours,” Christian said, taking out his wallet.

“What? You don’t have to do that.”

“I know, but I want to.” He smiled, then paid the woman.

“Thank you,” she said.

They both thanked her as they headed out of the stall.

“What now?”

He smiled. “Dancing.” He gestured down the string light–lined Main Street to the dance floor on the other end in the center of the large downtown park. “Can I spin you around the dance floor?”

She grimaced.

He chuckled. “What was that face for?”

“Your twirling me got me excited about the idea, but I don’t know how to dance,” she said, embarrassment flushing her cheeks.

A curious grin tugged at Christian’s lips. “You really don’t?”

“Nope,” she said. “Zero rhythm, and I can’t keep time to save my life.”

He took her hand in his. “I’ll teach you.”

“Okay, but no complaining if I step on your feet. Deal?”

“Deal.” He nodded.

They made their way to the park and stepped on the dance floor as “Blessed the Broken Road” began to play.

She followed Christian’s gaze toward the band and cocked her head. Had the singer just winked at Christian? “What was that about?”

“What was what about?”

“Never mind. Okay, what do I do?”

“You place one hand here on my shoulder.”

She did.

“Good. Now, take my hand,” he said, holding his arm up to her shoulder height. “We’re going to go two steps right. One left. In time with the music.”

She arched her brows. “I wasn’t joking when I said I can’t keep time.”

“No worries,” he said, his hand holding hers, tight and warm. “I’ll keep time. You just follow my lead. Ready?”

“I sure hope so.” She exhaled, wondering just how embarrassing this was going to get.
