That’s it,I thought as my breath caught in my lungs, and I tried to swallow. His voice went through me as if he was piercing a part of me that had never felt such a strong need to have him.So, the man can be playful when provoked.I wet my lips and opened my mouth to speak. When nothing came out, he shared a teasing grin with me as I finished the wine left in my glass. It appeared we were on the same sexual innuendo page.

Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love. Mother Teresa

Oblivious to my surroundings, or to the fact that we’d brought some attention to ourselves, I flirted with Liv. I wanted to taste that mouth of hers; I felt myself building up inside and adjusted my pants for comfort and to hide how hard I was. I had learned a lot about her in a short time, but I didn’t know where I recognized her from or what she did career-wise. I was about to turn to her and ask when Nicole interrupted us.

“Hey bro, I put your pots in my car. I’ll run them over in the next day or two. I see you two have met?” She smiled at us, showing her pearly whites and dimples.

“Yes, we ran into each other earlier this afternoon. I didn't know she was coming to the party.”

Nicole hit him playfully on the arm. “How would you have known, silly?” I rolled my eyes, only because she always got me, and rubbed my arm where she’d hit it.

“See the abuse I have to put up with?”

We laughed, and I couldn’t help but think what a contagious laugh Olivia had. She was so carefree when she wasn’t nervous, making her a bit chatty. It had not escaped me how nervous she was–or drunk–I couldn’t decide which, when talking earlier tonight.

Nicole asked Liv, “Do you want me to take your containers home and bring them to you when I take Parks’ back to him?”

“Sure, that would be fine, if you don’t mind?”

“Not at all. Thank you both for bringing something.” He loved the dishes.

“That’s great. It was nice to see you folks tonight. It’s been a while. El was excited to come,” Liv said.

“Oh, I just love El. I’m glad he introduced you to us, too,” Niki said as she squeezed Liv’s arm lovingly.

I still couldn’t shake the fact she might be having second thoughts about selling the house. I secretly hoped she didn’t sell it, at least not right now.

Feeling like the walls were closing in, I bid them both a good night and turned to leave. I had to get out of there, but Niki stopped me before I could escape. I turned to her and looked at her hand on my belt buckle as she pushed me back in. I raised an eyebrow as if to say,Wow, really? What now?

“Please don’t rush off yet. It’s still early.”

“I have to let Simba out, and work comes early tomorrow.”

Liv looked at me in amusement as my sister drilled on. “You can at least dance with me.”

I rolled my eyes and let out a small rush of air; I knew I wasn’t getting off that easy. “OK, one dance. When they start up again, I’m out of here.” I grinned, appeasing my sister. She smiled at me and told Liv to have more wine and dance some herself. Liv teasingly looked insulted.Who, me? she mouthed, her hand on her chest, and I stifled a smile.

She put her hand to her throat and slightly opened her mouth. “Me? I danced with Derrick just a little while ago.”

“Oh, don’t look so insulted.” Niki laughed, then continued, “Dance some more.”

The girls laughed while all I could think about was what I could do to that mouth of Liv’s when she’d slightly opened it. I had to admit we got along well and enjoyed each other’s company, clear from our body language while we talked easily.

My sister finally left, leaving me wondering where she’d interrupted and what we’d been talking about.

“Would you like a refresher?” I asked, pointing Liv toward her drink. She thought about it for only a second and handed her glass to me. Smiling, I retrieved refills for both of us. Returning, I handed the wine to her, and our fingers brushed together; man, that same wave of electricity ran through my blood. I made a mental note not to touch her again unless I was prepared.

The DJ started again and played “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” I couldn’t stand it a minute longer. I wanted her in my arms; hell, I wanted her in my bed. I did the only thing I could at that moment.

“Would you like to dance?” I asked as I held my hand out for hers. She took mine and I led us to the dance floor. Once there, I took her in my arms, and we swayed to the love song. I could see by her heavy breathing that she felt it, too. Our connection was a strong sexual tension; it built fast and without regret as we felt our bodies touch. I could not feel where mine ended and hers began. I felt her firm breasts pressed up against my chest, and I was sure she felt my hardness pressing against my trousers and her hip. A sound that couldn’t be explained escaped the back of my throat.

I felt her warm breath between my ear and shoulder where her head lay facing my neck. I took a shallow breath as the song ended, knowing I’d have her one day but not satisfied that it wouldn’t be soon enough. Gently, I removed my hand from the small of her back as the song ended, and we stopped swaying to the beat. She lifted her head, and her mouth was only inches away from mine. I wanted it.

I cleared my throat for what felt like the umpteenth time. “Thank you for the dance.” My eyes felt hot when I looked at her and quickly diverted them to the floor.

“Thank you,” she replied breathlessly. I leaned over, gave her the softest kiss on her cheek, took her hand, and we walked back to where we’d left our drinks earlier. She let my hand go, and I was sorry that she had; our hands fit together so well–too well.
