“We’re thinking of having a cookout next weekend if you’re available?”

I gave her a knowing look and a slow grin spread across my lips, surprised I was okay with her assuming I’d be free.

“I’d love to. What can I bring?” We both laughed and Kayla looked at us, puzzled, not understanding what was so funny.

“We’re not even sure what we’re having yet. Tell you what: when we work out the details, I’ll let you know,” Liv said.

“How about we start early on Saturday?” I asked. “We can load up the boat for the day, get some sun and swim, maybe pull up to a bar for a drink, then we’ll go back to my place and cook dinner.”

Liking the idea, both women nodded their heads yes.

“I’ll invite Elliot and his boyfriend–El is my oldest friend,” Olivia explained.

It was all set: a boating and dinner trip this Saturday.

Walking back to our houses with smiles on our faces, hand in hand, I looked at her. “Liv, I need to know if you decided anything on the house. My feelings for you are growing, and I don’t want to get ahead of myself if you won’t be around.”

She touched my cheek and leaned over to kiss me softly on the lips. I wondered if we were nervous talkers, because although I liked the way our relationship had started out and where it might lead, it was still new.

“I’ve been on the road for three years now,” she said. “I’m ready to start a home, to plant my roots, and the first place I’m starting is with my mom’s home, which is now mine and in my name. I’m not selling.”

Olivia…

I could tell it was the answer he had hoped for; his step was lighter as we turned the corner and headed back up our street. He ran Simba up to his house while I excused myself to run to my place for a moment, and said I’d see him for dessert once he had Simba settled.

I jumped in the shower for a quick freshening up while Parks dealt with Simba. Feeling much fresher, I pulled on my lounge shorts and a half tank, exposing my mid-section and belly button ring. Spritzing my body with some body spray and pulling my hair into a mess on top of my head, I looked in the mirror, satisfied and glowing. I padded into the kitchen barefoot and made a drink. There was a knock on the door, and I yelled, “It’s open.”

Parker strolled through the door, leaving it open for the night breeze. I smiled as I noticed he, too, had showered; I was also happy he left the door open. I loved the nightly breeze that circulated into the house off the water.

Parker leaned over and kissed me. “Did you miss me?”

I laughed and playfully patted his ass. “Nope, took the time to freshen up. Do you want dessert yet?”

“Sure. What can I do to help?”

“Nothing, I just need to brown the top and it’ll be all done. Fix yourself a drink while I do that.” I went into the fridgeand grabbed the dessert and my small kitchen torch, flamed the top, and set the desserts on the bar. We ate at the bar while making plans for the upcoming weekend. After finishing dessert, we returned to the lanai with a nightcap.

I assumed Parker would want to get home soon to be with Simba, but for a time we swung softly on the Globo and drank cocktails while I leaned against his chest. Parker played with my hair methodically, much like the rocking of the swing.

My eyes grew heavy as the night settled in. He kissed my head, took my glass, and set both on the table beside us. As I sat up, he scooped me off the swing and, in his arms, carried me to the bedroom. I let out a squeal of excitement at how he scooped me up and did so like I weighed ten pounds; I also loved how I felt in his arms against his strong body.

He gently laid me in the middle of the bed and looked at me; he stopped at my breast that peaked out the bottom of the crop top, teasing him. Then he moved to look at my belly button with a diamond stud sparkling against my golden skin.

The sight of him took my breath away: his masculine features and the way his muscles reacted as he moved. He was beautifully all man from head to toe. My hair laid out on the pillow above my head as he put either hand beside it. His slow, intentional movements made anticipation build as he slowly began to kiss me and then ran his tongue down to my shoulder. He lay down beside me and drew me into his arms as we kissed feverishly.

Later, I asked him if he needed to go home. He assured me he wanted to be no place other than to be in bed with me and that Simba was used to being alone at night while on the circuit.

We crawled under the covers, and he brought me into his arms as we fell asleep.

The following day, I woke before Parker did. I quietly got out of bed and padded to the kitchen after brushing my hair and teeth. I started a pot of coffee while making a cup for myself with the Keurig. I wandered out to the lanai and watched the sunrise as I sipped coffee. Within minutes, Parker appeared on the lanai, coffee in hand. “Good morning, beautiful.”

I smiled at him. “Good morning, sexy.”
