After finishing my hair, I paid and gave her a kiss on the cheek, a hug, and went about my day. The next stop was the car dealership, where I’d made an appointment to change the oil.

While I sat in the waiting area, my thoughts drifted back to Liv. I wondered where our relationship would go. I knew I loved her. Call it intuition, gut feelings, or what have you, but I knew she was the one–the only one. There would never be any denying it if I tried. I missed her when I wasn’t with her; those eyes stole my heart. She was so down to earth for a model, and didn’t fall into the stereotype I once felt about models.

My skin wanted her touch. She was wickedly wild in bed, surprisingly bold, and knew her body well. The thought crossed my mind that things were moving at lightning speed. I shook that off as I thought about the upcoming family dinner. Though Liv knew my sister and had met my parents at the party, I knew it would be different at an intimate family dinner.

My mind wandered to golf: Would I be willing to stay on the circuit and be away from her for months on end? I made good money and invested it properly, so I didn’t have to work another day and could live well. I could always offer golf lessons, but then I wondered why I was getting so far ahead of myself.Snap out of it, fool,I thought; we’d only just met for fucks sake.

Hearing my name brought me back to the present. Feeling frustrated, I strolled over to collect the truck and paid the lady behind the counter. I wished her a good day as I walked out.

Before heading home, I had one more stop: the jewelry shop, the little one tucked away on the corner, owned by a trusted jeweler for the last thirty years. Parking, I went into the store, placed an order, and bought a silver chain. Satisfied, I started to drive home; the air coming through the window blew air across my face.

I saw Liv washing her car as I pulled into the driveway. There she was, in a white bikini top, covering barely anything, and cut-off jean shorts that revealed the cheeks of her ass when she bent over. I sat there with the truck idling for a bit too long, watching her as suds ran to her elbows as she washed the car and sang. Every so often, she’d do a dance move, shaking her hips or shoulders to the beat.

Feeling like a stalker, I sighed and killed the truck’s engine, grabbed the few things I’d picked up, and got out. Liv waved as if I’d just pulled in; I wondered if she knew how long I had sat there watching her. I waved back, headed inside, and let Simba out to do his business. Simba bolted over to Liv and the water hose. She bent down and greeted him with a nice rub on either side of his ears. She smiled as I walked toward her. “Hi. How’s your day going?”

“Not too bad. I got my oil changed and ran a few errands. How about yours? I see you decided to wash your car after all.” I nodded, unable to move my eyes away from looking into hers. I leaned into her and whispered, “There should be a law againstyou looking so good washing your car.” I growled low with hunger.

She threw her head back, laughed, looked at me, and reached up to kiss me on the nose. Simba’s bark caught our attention, and we laughed as we played with him. She finished rinsing the car and then turned to me. “Drink?”

Simba barked while I nodded with a chin up and said yes. We followed her inside, and she handed me a bowl to give Simba some water while she made us a drink. I called for Simba to follow as we walked out to the lanai. He settled in, closed his eyes, and relaxed on a huge pillow she had found for him. We smiled as we took a sip of our drinks. Wasting no time, I turned to her, leaned over, and kissed her enthusiastically. “I missed you today.”

“I missed you too. I thought of you often; actually, I couldn’t get that body out of my head.”

She blushed as I looked at her. I placed my fingers under her chin and lifted her head so that she could look at me. Her eyes were dark with desire; I wanted her–needed her. I cleared my throat; Simba looked up for only a second, then put his head back down. I felt like I’d burst any second if I couldn’t have her. We kissed again, with hunger, a need, desire, and many other emotions tied in.

Coming up for air, I picked up my drink, took a sip, and smiled at him.God, I love his smile.

“Want to take the boat out; give the engine some log time? It’s been a year or better, and I think it could use a spin.” After suggesting it, I thought about it and wondered if we could manage such a large boat. I could see he was also hesitant. “I’d obviously need to call my mom’s old crew, the captain, co-captain, and cook. I think we could use extra hands. It’s a large ass boat,” I added with a laugh.

He kissed my nose, then forehead. “I’d love to. Don’t bother with the cook, but I could pay their wages if you have someone who could tend to Simba and serve us drinks. We can fish for dinner,” he said and gave me a sly grin.

I laughed and told him I’d make a few calls. We agreed to meet in an hour, after I told him to bring a change of clothes when he took Simba home. Shortly after an hour, we boarded the vessel, which was more of a yacht than a boat. The engine purred like a well-oiled machine despite being unused for a year.

I put the bags of food in the galley while Franklin, the captain’s helper, carried the whiskey and mixers to the boat, putting everything in its proper place. Parker put our change of clothes in the bedroom and Simba’s dishes on the floor in the crew’s eating area away from the kitchen. He voiced his surprise: “How do Captain Sarah and Franklin know the boat so well?”

We went to the upper deck to sit and watch as the captain made her way out into the ocean. I smiled as I touched his face with the palm of my hand. “They’ve been driving and managing this vessel since I was five years old. They’re more like my aunt and uncle than hired help.”

He nodded, impressed. “We might have to take a three- or four-day cruise then.” He laughed.

Laughing, I turned my head towards the wind, watching as we glided through the water. He watched me as my hair blew in the wind, combing through it with gentle fingers. The sun felt amazing, and it kissed my skin. I leaned back onto his bare chest and felt our skin ignite together.

Franklin, a short, round Italian, offered us fresh drinks; we thanked him as he bowed and left us. We enjoyed the water and sun and even waved at a few other boats we passed. The bait, poles, and hooks were ready when we dropped anchor. Having decided to play with the water toys before fishing, we jumped on the jet skis and toured the area.

“There are some of the best Grouper around right here,” he said as we tooled around on the jet skis.

“Wow, I didn’t know that. I didn’t fish much when my mom and I went out. We mostly hit the islands, shopped, ate at fancy restaurants, and hung out with friends.”

“You’ve missed out,” he teased as we returned to the boat.

After our ride, we hopped back on the boat; he excused himself to use the facilities and put on dry trunks.

“There’s my little girl,” the captain said as I walked in. I laughed at her and went to hug her.

“I’m not so little anymore, Sarah.”
