I laughed and pushed him away. We busied ourselves steaming the lobster. While that was being done, we cut up the necessary ingredients for the stock. I gathered all the necessary spices and measured them in a bowl; he peeled onions and garlic and cleaned the celery.

Unexpectedly, octopus arms were back around me from behind, kissing the back of my neck again. He fondled my breasts under my loose sundress, running his hands down either side of me to where my legs showed, and the hem of my dress ended. Slowly, he leaned me against the counter as he raised my dress, slowly teasing me. My breathing increased with eagerness as we made love.

The boiling water overflowing the pot brought us out of our trance and back to the task at hand: cooking. While he tended to the lobster, I retrieved my glass of wine. I watched him clean the lobster out of every inch of the shell, fins, and claws. He was meticulous about it. It amused me and I went back to the lanai to wait for him.

I was deep in thought when he returned and startled when he came out. He sat on the lounge with a beer; Simba settled back in his bed with a huff and closed his eyes.

I picked up my Kindle and began reading where I’d left off. I liked this author’s writing style and looked forward to reading more of her work. I liked getting to know the authors ofthe books I read, and I knew this author was from Washington DC.

While we sat, relaxing, the breeze picked up. It was cool, a sign of colder weather. I hoped it wouldn’t be too chilly on the boat. My thin blood made it cooler than normal most of the time.

We spent most of the evening lounging around and preparing for the next day. After walking Simba, Parker decided to spend the night at his place. I gave him a sad look, then my sweetest smile. We kissed each other good night as I stood at the door next to him. “I’ll see you in the morning,”

“Okay, don’t stay up too late doing laundry,” I teased and watched him walk across the lawn to his house.

Not having slept very well alone, I realized I’d gotten used to Parker being there when I stretched to wake my body up after a restless night. With heavier than usual feet, I walked to the bathroom to shower. Wearing only my bikini top and pulling my shorts over the thong bottoms, I decided to French braid my hair.

As I went into the kitchen, I glanced outside, and it looked like the weather would be perfect for boating. Yesterday, we decided to take Parker’s boat out this time. It was a much smaller boat, making it more intimate for the group outing and that made extra deckhands unnecessary for proper navigation.

I heard my phone ding as I headed to the lanai with my morning coffee, so I picked it up to look after setting it on the table. The text was from Parker:

Hi baby. Missed you last night.

I bet you’re sitting on the lanai

drinking your coffee. Boat’s all

ready. I’ll come over at nine o’clock

to await the others and to

hold you in my arms and kiss those

wonderful lips of yours.

I yearned to be in his arms as his words ran through my mind. Again, I thought about how much I’d missed him last night but decided not to text him back since it would only be five minutes before he arrived.

While making a second cup of coffee, Parker showed up. He wrapped his arms around me and held me tight; the warmth of his body felt comforting to me as I soaked in his scent and the comfort it gave me. I kissed him tenderly and offered some coffee; he declined, saying he’d already had three cups.

“What time did you wake up? Three cups of coffee tells me it was early.” I laughed.

“I got up at about five. I wanted to make sure everything was in working order on the boat and get it stocked with staples for the trip.”

I kissed him again, and we started carrying all the stuff we had prepared the previous day to his boat. After we finished, the other guests began to arrive. We all piled onto the boat with our bags. The thirty-five-foot Grady White walk-around with a cuddy cabin was a beautiful vessel, and comfortable, too. Parker started the engine and taxied out of the no-wake zone into open waters.

The girls, El, and Anthony hung out at the bow sunbathing while Javier sat in the co-captain seat talking to Parker. The sun was warm and inviting, and I was happy with my choice of bathing suit. It was a classic multi-color triangle top and matching thong bottoms.

We started with mimosas and bloody Mary’s. Once all that was gone, I set out snacks and liquor for those who wanted it. I gave Parker a beer, a quick kiss, and a view of my body in my new suit. He whistled as he watched me walk over. “You look so sexy,” he whispered as he bit the bottom of my ear lightly, teasing me.

“Are you having fun?” He nodded his head, showing a yes. “When will we be anchoring?”

“I’ll anchor near the sand bar; we can swim and hang out with the other boats.”

Liking that answer, I joined the others after asking him to let me know if he needed anything. Once anchored, Parks joined the rest of the group, grabbing me a refill on the way.
