“What did we miss? Is she ratting me out?” Parker asked.

I stood and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. “I know all your secrets now.”

He laughed and scolded Kayla playfully. It was a nice evening with great company. We all agreed we’d have to do this at least once a month; take turns on who supplied dinner. I was thrilled to be a part of the group; we got along so well, and everyone felt comfortable.

“You guys outdid yourself with this lobster arancini! I must get the recipe from you,” El said as he took another bite.

“Thanks, I’ll copy the recipe for you. It’s time-consuming but delicious. I love the bits of lobster meat throughout the rice ball. Do you want the aioli recipe as well?” I asked.

“Yes, please,” El said.

“I’ll get you a copy when I copy one for Kayla.”

Shortly after the Lowcountry Boil was ready, we set out brown paper that came in a roll on a long table out in theyard, dumping the contents of the boil on top of it. Filling the table with a fabulous blend of seafood and vegetables, everyone started to eat.

It didn’t take long for the food and beverages to take their toll on everyone and after some chatter and watching the stars a bit, I tapped out and called it a night. Since El and Anthony had been drinking and would have to drive, I offered them the guest room.

“We couldn’t do that. We’ll be fine,” El said.

“Nonsense! You’re not driving away from my house after drinking all day,” I scolded.

Parker interjected. “Would you feel more comfortable with more privacy if you stayed at my place? I’ll be staying here with Liv. You all could stay there, and we’ll cook breakfast: lobster eggs Benedict.”

That was all it took, the mention of breakfast, and El was in. I laughed at him and hugged them both, deciding to stay behind and get ready for bed while Parks walked them over. In the meantime, after dressing for bed, I figured what the hell, and texted Kayla to invite her and Javier for breakfast, too. She gladly accepted.

With a yawn upon Parker’s return, we turned out the lights and headed for bed. Exhaustion from the day kicked in and we fell asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillows.

I woke up early after a wonderful night’s rest and watched Liv sleeping. She was so peaceful; her hair flowed like a waterfall on the pillow behind her head. The rosy color of her cheeks was a dead giveaway that she’d got a little warm.

As she started to stir, I pulled her into my arms, looked into her bright eyes, and kissed each eyelid, forehead, nose, and inviting mouth. Our tongues played with each other as a deeper hunger settled in. Our lovemaking was slow and purposeful, with so many emotions involved, there was no urgency to it. It was sweet and tender, taking us to the brink of ecstasy. Feeling the tension build within her, and hearing her release a moan, my name softly escaping her lips, she arched to meet me. I couldn’t control myself any longer; we both hungered for release.

Breathless, we lay in each other’s arms. I played with her hair as I kissed the side of her head. I took her chin and moved her to face me. “I love you, Liv.” I felt the sensation run through her body as if she spoke without words: she loved me as well.

As if little sparks ignited her soul, she touched my face. “I love you too, Parks,” she said and kissed me with all the love she had.

Reluctantly, we rolled out of bed. Liv went into the bath and jumped in the shower while I started the coffee. I knew that after breakfast, all she wanted to do was relax. Entertaining, as fun as it was, could be exhausting, she had said, as much as she remembered, we only had two free days before the dinner at my parents’ house.

After my shower, I joined the rest of the gang in the kitchen, where Liv was cooking the eggs.

“Good morning, everyone,” I said.

“Good morning. I took it upon myself to make you a mimosa,” Kayla said. I hugged and thanked her as I took the chilled goblet from her. She had garnished it with fresh mint, an orange slice, and a strawberry. At the bottom of the glass, I could see more pieces of strawberry and mint floating; it had a wonderful taste as it tickled my throat.

“Did everyone sleep well?” someone asked, and everyone answered similarly: like a rock, like the dead, and I thought it was comical how we sometimes all talked over each other.

We ate and chatted, and the lobster Benedict with its hollandaise sauce was perfect. I was sadly thrilled when they all left shortly after breakfast.

We cleaned up and settled on the couch, content in each other’s arms while watching a movie. I couldn’t tell you what it was about as I drifted off to sleep a few times; I suspected Liv did, too.

After a lazy day of snoozing on and off and watching very little television, we decided on leftovers for an early dinner, heating the Lowcountry Boil and adding warm buttered bread and wine.

Olivia…

“I went ahead and emailed my agent today and let them know I’d do the shoot in Miami,” I said as we ate.
