“You ready?” He waves toward the door. “Your chariot awaits.”

“Where are we going?” I ask once we’re in a golf cart.

“ToElectric Vibes.Where else would we go? It’s the only bar in town.”

“We could have walked.”

“We’re running late.”

When we enter the bar five minutes later, Clove rushes toward me. “Finally. I thought you’d miss it.” She motions to a table in front of the stage where a large television is currently set up.

“Miss what?”

She pushes me forward. What she doesn’t do is answer me.

I scowl at Dylan. “This doesn’t appear to be a birthday party.”

“I might have lied to get you here.”

“Dylan.” I slap his shoulder. “What’s going on?”

He pulls out a chair for me. “Sit down and you’ll find out.”

“I am never opening my door for you again,” I grumble, but I do sit down.

“You’ll thank me later.”

“I at least deserve a drink.”

“Here.” Virginia sets a glass of wine on the table.

I sigh. “Thanks.”

She smiles as she retreats.

“Where are you going?” I shout after her.

She nods toward Dylan, and I giggle for the first time in days. I may never find love, but I can at least tease my friend about her love/hate relationship with the man sitting next to me.

“Why is she running away?” Dylan asks.

“Hush, everyone! It’s starting!” Sage claps her hands to get everyone’s attention. Once everyone is focused on her, she switches on the television.

“We’re here to watch TV?”

The crowd shushes me. I guess I’m here to watch TV.

The commercial ends and the camera swings to Cash. I stand. I am not watching this. Why would I watch this?

Before I manage one step, Dylan clamps down on my hand to stop me. “Stay.” I glare at him. “Please.”

“You have five minutes.” I collapse back in my chair and cross my arms over my chest. This is ridiculous.

“I’m here today with Cash Evans, the lead singer ofCash & the Sinners,” the announcer begins.

Cash flashes his trademark smile at him. “Thanks for having me.”

“When Cash says he wants to premier his latest song on your show, you make time.”
