“It’s not my fault,” I pout as I follow her inside.

She raises her eyebrows. “Really? It’s notyourfault. It wasn’tyourfault when you claimed the gossip gals were cheating?”

“They were cheating.”

“Of course, they were. They’re the gossip gals.”

“I didn’t realize being a gossip gal meant you get to cheat at karaoke.”

“Poor Cash.” She pats my arm. “Wasn’t voted the best singer at Grandma’s funeral.”

I growl. “I am the best singer.”

She rolls her eyes but before she has a chance to speak her phone beeps. She picks it up from the kitchen table where she left it this morning. She scowls as she reads the message.

“I cannot believe her.” She slams the phone down on the table. “Does Mom seriously think I don’t realize she’s lying? What a bitch.”

Her eyes widen and she slaps her hands over her mouth. I start to joke about Indy having a potty mouth but then I notice the tears welling in her eyes. Shit.

“Hey, now, Indy girl.” I pry her hands from her mouth before framing her face with my hands. “It’s okay to lash out sometimes.” When she doesn’t speak, I push her. “What did Raven say?”

“Mom said it’s not true she threatened to divorce Dad if he came today. We buried her mother today and all she’s worried about is whether I love Dad more than her.”

I grit my teeth and clamp my mouth shut. I’m afraid if I open my mouth, I’ll tell Indy the truth about her mom. The truth that will hurt her. But I’m done hurting Indy.

I rub circles on Indy’s skin with my thumbs until my anger is under control. “She can argue all she wants. We both know you prefer me over the two of them.”

I’m joking but Indy’s eyes flare with heat. I want to throw her over my shoulder and carry her to her bedroom where I can remind her of how much she likes me. Of how good I can make her feel. Of how I can make her forget the world outside of the two of us.

“I think I do,” she murmurs.

Nothing can stop me now. I slam my mouth down on hers. At the first hint of her candy mixed with wicked taste, Igroan. I’ve missed her taste. I’ve missed her in my arms. I’ve plain missed her.

She threads her fingers through my hair and tugs me closer. I’ll come as close as you want, Indy girl. As close as I can be.

I prowl forward until her back is against the wall. I press my hard length into her stomach and she mewls in response. I don’t want a little mewl. I want her writhing beneath me, begging for relief.

I grasp her knee and hitch her leg around my waist. I thrust against her core and she arches her back forcing her breasts into my chest. This is more like it. I thrust against her again and she wraps her other leg around me.Yes.

I release her lips to nibble along her jaw. She lifts her chin to give me room to maneuver. I bite and nip at her neck and she grinds against my hard length. Searching for relief. She’s not getting relief while we’re both fully clothed. Not on my watch.

“Why don’t we take this to the bedroom?” I whisper into her ear.

“I want you. I don’t care if this is a mistake.”

“This isn’t a mistake,” I growl.

I carry her to her bedroom and deposit her on the bed before laying on top of her. “Tell me you realize this isn’t a mistake,” I demand.

Her legs wrap around my waist and she begins rubbing herself up and down my cock. “Don’t care if it’s a mistake,” she gasps out.

I grasp her hips to stop her movement. “Promise you won’t regret this in the morning.”

“I promise.”

I search her hazel eyes for the truth but all I see is desire.

“I’m holding you to your promise.”
