Page 16 of Terror

I’ve been wanting to get my hands on the stupid fuck and if he doesn’t want to listen to us today then I have a feeling I’ll get a hit or two in on him. At least that’s my hope.

“When do we leave?” I ask, looking only at Venom.

“Right the fuck now. Do we want to leave Steel here with his family or bring him with us?” Venom questions looking at me for a response.

“I want him here with my wife. If anythin’ happens to her, he’ll get her to the doctor immediately without callin’ me to make sure that’s what I want to happen,” I respond, knowing Steel would want to be with us after what Horton did to his daughter.

“Go let him know what we’re doin’. I’m sure he’ll be pissed, but he can join us the next time we go out and do somethin’ like this,” Venom says as I push off the wall. “The rest of you grab what you need and make sure you’re ready to head out in five minutes. We’re gonna do this shit at his office so everyone knows we paid him this little visit.”

Leaving Venom’s office, I head for Steel and my wife where they sit in the common room finishing up their lunch. Harley is somewhere around here doing her thing. Joining them at the table, I look between the two of them.

“What’s goin’ on?” Steel asks, not beating around the bush.

“Gonna go pay Horton a visit at his office. I’d like you to stay here to keep an eye on Quinn. Venom said you can go the next time, but I don’t want my wife just left with everyone here. Not after what’s happened,” I tell them, looking between my wife and father-in-law.

“I’m gonna be on the next trip for sure. Don’t give a fuck what’s goin’ on,” Steel says, his voice hard and cold.

“You’ll be there. I’ll be back as soon as I can, baby,” I tell Quinn, leaning over and giving her a kiss.

Leaving the table, I head to the main door. I’ve already got my gun on me and don’t need to go back to my room for anything else. Ricochet and Otter are already standing outside with Brantley. We wait for Hawkeye and Venom to meet us. It doesn’t take them long to meet up with us and for us to load up in Venom’s truck.

Making our way through town, we don’t stop until we’re pulling in front of the mayor’s office and parking right in front of the door. None of us are hiding from Horton. We want him and everyone else to know we’re not gonna take his shit laying down and we’ll fight for our rights. That includes not being raided on a regular basis because he wants to fuck with the club and our livelihood. Or our family members.

Getting out of the truck, we head in the office building and don’t stop for the receptionist or anyone else. We already know where Horton’s office is. Making our way there, Venom slams his office door open so hard the glass shatters and lands all over the thick carpeting at our feet. Horton startles in his chair and pales when he takes us all in.

“You can’t be in here,” he says, his voice wavering with the fear coursing through his veins.

“Don’t really give a fuck if we can be in here or not,” Venom says, taking a seat in front of Horton’s desk. “See, you’ve been fuckin’ with the wrong people. Now that five of us are standin’ here in front of you, you’re scared to death and about to piss your pants. You’re like all the rest of them, Horton. You can’t stand up to a fuckin’ man but you’ll go after women and kids without blinkin’ an eye. Or, you’ll go after businesses who are doin’ well in the area and makin’ the community you’re supposed to be runnin’ thrive. What have you done for Cedar Bay? Cause, I can’t find a single fuckin’ thing you’ve done for this town the entire time you’ve been in office. All you’ve done is help your own cause.”

“You know nothing about me,” Horton says, trying to defend himself while cowering down in his chair even more.

“We know a lot about you actually. Like you cornerin’ my wife in the diner and threatenin’ her. That you know her name and that she’s pregnant. We also know you threatened Haley with her business and takin’ her along with my wife. That was before you came at the kids with your bullshit claim of us havin’ guns and drugs in the clubhouse. A clubhouse that was filled with cops pointin’ guns and shit all over the place. Kids were in there and scared to death. So, this is your fuckin’ warnin’, Horton. Leave the ol’ ladies, kids, and our club alone. You won’t like the response if you don’t,” I tell him, stepping up right in front of his desk and leaning down so I’m in his face.

“You don’t have shit on me,” Horton says, a smirk on his face.

“Really? We’ve got the victims from your house and the warehouse who will testify against what you’ve done to them. Also got the camera footage of you threatenin’ two innocent women. One as she was workin’ at her place of business and the other one a pregnant woman who was tryin’ to eat her lunch before work. Also got on video you confessin’ to knowin’ about the bomb that was planted in Quinn’s car and havin’ others workin’ for you. That’s just the camera footage we’ve got. Not to mention the paper trails you’ve left behind or anythin’ else. So, you can continue to come after us and everyone we love. Or, you can admit defeat as the terror fills you and leave us the fuck alone,” Venom states, his voice hard and cold.

“You don’t have any footage of me. I’d have seen the cameras if there were any in that diner,” Horton says despite the fear still filling his eyes and body.

“Our security guy is really good. You won’t see shit unless he wants you to. So, no, you wouldn’t have seen the cameras in any of our businesses or the clubhouse. We are smarter than you, Horton. And we don’t need to hire stupid fucks to do our job for us. We take care of our rivals on our own and don’t leave the details up to anyone else. That’s just one more area where you’re a fuck-up,” I tell him, my voice not losing a single bit of the edge.

“You took a lot of money from me when you took my cargo. How do you think I’m supposed to get that money back?” Horton says, putting an edge into his voice.

“That doesn’t matter to us. You’re not gonna kidnap anyone else or torture another person ever again. We’ll always have guys on you to see who you meet with and what you do when you’re not at home. You’ll never know a second of peace from here on out. Not to mention the fact that you’ve been stealin’ money from all sorts of places and puttin’ it all in offshore accounts. So, I’d say you have the money needed to pay off the cargo we took from you. And stop callin’ them fuckin’ cargo. They are people!” Venom yells, standing from his chair so fast it crashes to the floor and cracks down the middle.

“I-I-I d-d-don’t know what you’re talking about,” Horton says, losing even more color in his face.

“Yeah, ya do,” Venom says, leaning over Horton. “Now, we’re gonna leave here. But, we’ll be seein’ ya real soon, Horton.”

Without another word, the five of us leave Horton’s office and make our way back out to the truck. Getting in we head straight back to the clubhouse. None of us say a word because we don’t need to. All of us were in the room together and know what was said. There’s also a camera that may have been installed by Goose a few days ago. Horton’s security really fucking sucks. It took Goose seconds to bypass the security system at his office and home. So, we now have cameras and bugs in each location so we’ll always know what’s going on and where he is.

We’ve been back at the clubhouse for a while now. I’ve been working on the paperwork for the gym here instead of there so I can be here with Quinn. As soon as we got back here, Venom called church for those of us who were at the clubhouse. He’ll fill everyone else in when they return from work or babysitting duty on Horton. We might have had our little talk with him today, but that doesn’t mean we’re gonna ease up on having him followed or anything else as we informed him.

We’ve decided to still keep the ol’ ladies and kids on lockdown for now and we’ll be taking shifts for work and searching for the rest of the assholes Horton has working for him. There’s four men out there we have to find before we can even begin thinking of letting the ol’ ladies and kids out of the clubhouse. Those four douche canoes have gone deep underground though and we haven’t been able to find a single trace of them. Goose is spending every waking hour searching doing his shit on the computer to try and find them. We’ll get them. It’s just a matter of time. However, right now it does nothing to stop the frustration from filling me.

Going out to the backyard of the compound, I pull out my phone and call the one person I know I can vent to about anything. My dad.

“Son, I was wonderin’ when I was gonna hear from you. How are things goin’?” my dad answers his phone.
