I’m a puddle on the couch in the wake of that orgasm. I couldn’t move if the place suddenly caught fire.

Silvan kisses my pussy before pulling back and closing my legs, then he sits on the couch next to me and pulls me against him.

I’m boneless, but I sink against his strong body and close my eyes.

I lay on him for a few minutes until I regain a sense of strength in my extremities. When I finally look up at him, I finda satisfied grin on his face. “I think this place will work out just fine.”

Chapter Thirty-five

Sophie

When I get back to my dorm, it’s dark.

It gets darker earlier these days, though. It’s not really that late.

We had dinner at some Italian place—not the one beneath the apartment but one within walking distance. That apartment has a lot of stuff within walking distance.

I don’t want to think about the dream apartment, though. I take out my key to unlock the door but get a strong whiff of sautéed garlic from inside my dorm room, so I know someone is home.

I drop my key back into my purse and open the door.

Instant chaos.

Everyone is home, and the place is small—feels smaller now that I’ve just been through that massive apartment with Silvan—so the room feels crowded.

“There she is,” Rumi says, glancing over her shoulder as she uses her spatula to move something around in the skillet.

“I guess she isn’t ghosting us after all,” Sabrina says, cocking an unimpressed eyebrow at me.

“Sorry,” I say, shutting the door. “I know I haven’t been home all weekend. It’s a long story.”

“Seems like it, but that’s not why we’re mad.”

“You really went and got a new place without even telling us?” Rumi demands.

“I know having roommates isn’t your favorite, but I thought we all got along,” Sabrina agrees. “I can’t believe you didn’t even have the decency to tell us.”

My jaw drops open. “What are you talking about?”

Before anyone has a chance to answer me, two huge men come out of the bedroom and down the hall in my direction. My eyes widen as I take in the boxes they’re carrying. I step out of the way so I don’t get trampled, but I’m completely confused.

“What are they doing?”

Kendra stares at me. “Moving your shit, Sophie. What do you think they’re doing?”

My heart sinks. “Already?”

Kendra frowns. “What do you mean, already? Isn’t that what you’ve been doing this weekend?”

“No! I just went through the apartment like an hour ago. I didn’t know…”

It won’t make any sense if I explain myself, will it?

I’ll sound like a liar.

“Your roommates helped us get everything boxed up,” the moving guy tells me as he heads for the door. “Might want to take a look around, see if we missed anything.”

Sabrina glares at his back but waits until he walks out to mutter, “Like she has anything worth stealing.”
