“Approaching in forty-five seconds.”

Dante and Bash nod.

“This asshole better not be leading us into a trap,” Kai says as he scans the ocean view from the window.

“Remember, make sure you have eyes on Anya before you start shooting,” I order.

“That shouldn’t be difficult,” Dante adds, nodding out the window.

I look down at what could only be described as a cruise ship. We’re close enough to see them. The gunfire hitting the chopper confirms they’ve spotted us. The small figure in white stands surrounded by men in black on the east side. Fuck, she’s probably freezing. We’re twenty-five miles off of the coast of Nova Scotia, officially international waters.

“We need to get her out of there ASAP,” I tell no one in particular before ripping my headset off. I replace it with our wireless one before slipping on the goggles and military-grade helmet.

Dominic’s voice ripples through the device.

“If any of you fuckers shoot my sister, you’ll also be shark food.”

“Get out of here, fuckers,”the pilot announces as the helicopter descends low enough for us to hop out.

Bullets immediately assault us. Kai takes a few men out from the window of the aircraft while Caishen’s men disburse and shoot back. The power of the propellers has men stumbling as we lower, and the door swings open before we charge out.

Kai and one of our soldiers takes the front, while Dom, Bash, Enzo, Dante, and I exit next, then Bo, Grayson and two other soldiers are at our rear. My shoulder is killing me, but there was no way I wasn’t coming.

Anya looks like a killer angel, and the goddamn pint-sized goddess of destruction that she is dressed in a thin white gown and rifle in her hand as she knocks a man out with the butt of it and runs for cover.

Though she be but little, she is fierce.

Several chuckles through the speaker tell me I said that out loud instead of to myself. Anya heads for the stairs to get to the level above. We’re covered head to toe in tactical gear, so she hasn’t spotted me yet. It won’t be hard to tell us apart from Caishen’s armorless men.

I follow in her direction, praying she realizes it’s me before she blows my head off. Trusting my brothers and Dante will cover me, I rush up the stairs. Ducking low, I see her eyes scan the ship from the edge undoubtedly in search of Caishen.

I’m on her in seconds, not liking that she didn’t have her back covered. I could’ve been anyone. She lets out a yelp when I grab her arm, and I quickly pull off my military-grade helmet and strap it on her head.

“Nico!” she cries as she throws herself into my arms.

I pull us back, so the floor above is covering us, before kissing the ever-living breath out of her.

She punches my shoulder. “What the hell took you so long?”

I chuckle. “We had to come up with a plan. Anything worth doing at all is worth doing right,” I yell over the chaos.

I was not fucking this up again.

She grabs my head before searing my lips in a painful miss. “You owe me a big, giant honeymoon.”

“Anything you want,” I shout, smiling, scanning the area. Couldn’t be too careful.

“How did you know where we’d be?” she asks.

I quickly take off my coat and put it around her shoulders. “Xander may have helped.”

Her eyes grow wide as she slides her arms into the sleeves.

“What? He didn’t say anything.”

“No time for that story. We need to kill Caishen and get the fuck out of here.”

“He’s over there in the northwest corner. There are two men with him,” she says nodding in their direction. God, she’s sexy. “Don’t even think about telling me to stay back,” she quips before I can get the words out.
