“Yes, I know exactly who you are.” Forrest’s mouth settles into a tight line. “Weren’t you the location manager’s assistant at the time? I turned you down one night, and you tried to get me thrown off the show. But you got fired instead.”

“I… Uh.” Anya doesn’t have any sort of coherent comeback.

Gabe looks between Forrest and Anya. “Is that why you took this job? To get revenge on Forrest? And that’s why you’ve been acting like a royal pain in the ass since you arrived?”

The director doesn’t answer, but instead she leaves, slamming the door behind her.

Even the cameramen flee the house discretely.

I bite on my lower lip and eye Forrest. “Is that true? Do you think that’s why she’s been insufferable this whole time?”

Forrest shakes his head, the memory clearly annoying him. “Probably. It was a mess.” He rolls his eyes. “After filming the season finale of the show, the crew went out to celebrate. I barely knew her, but she... she tried to follow me to my room.”

He stops and takes a deep breath. “I turned her down,” he continues, voice low. “Then the accusations started. She told the crew that I got angry at her and tried to hit her. The hotel cameras captured what happened, though, so I was in the clear.” Forrest runs a hand through his blond mane. “The police never got involved. But she lost her job over it.”

“That’s awful,” I say, taking his hand.

“It really was,” Forrest says. “I would never hurt a woman… ever. But now that we know her reasons for her actions, she has no solid foundation if she chooses to bring a case against us.”

“Do you think we’ll have a legal battle ahead?” I ask. The thought of the legal bills makes my stomach tighten.

“Possibly, but I doubt it,” Forrest says, reaching out to pull me into a hug. “But it’s nothing we can’t handle. The guys and I will have your back on this. You don’t need to worry about anything.”

“We literally have the best lawyers in LA on our side, Heartbreaker,” Gabe promises, rubbing my back.

“You handled filming the finale beautifully, by the way—choosing all three of us,” Bennet adds.

I exhale. “Too bad no one is ever going to see it.”

“Oh, I wouldn’t be too sure about that,” Forrest muses. “They’re still on a schedule and deadline. Knowing the way studios work, they’ll just cut and edit the footage they have to make it the way they want it.”

I wrinkle my nose in disgust. “So the world isn’t going to know about us? All of this was for nothing?”

All three of my lovers shake their heads in unison.

“No,” Gabe replies. “Because we’re not going to hide it from anyone. We’re going to proudly put our relationship on display for all the world to see.”

I blink. “Really?”

“Really,” Forrest concedes, drawing me closer as the other two flank me on either side.

I exhale in relief, offering them all a tentative look. “Good. That’s good because I don’t think I can go on hiding this anymore,” I admit. “Nor do I want to.”

“Neither do we,” Bennet reassures me, brushing his mouth against my cheek.

Two sets of arms circle my waist, and a burst of excitement rushes through me.

“We really should get out of here,” Forrest says.

“In a minute,” Gabe replies. “What are they going to do? Call the police?”

“I wouldn’t put it past Anya. She was pretty mad,” Forrest snorts. “I can’t believe that she thought she would get away with her threats; it’s just so ridiculous. Maybe I should have listened to my father and joined the military.”

All three of us burst out laughing.

“What?!” Forrest demands. “What’s so funny?”

“Captain Forrest Marlowe, reporting for duty, sir!” Gabe salutes. “Can you imagine?”
