I learned how to fully give my heart to someone, and to you, I’m forever grateful for that.

Your friend, Elliot.

I think it must be raining until I realize that it's my tears dripping against the thin paper.

Tears of happiness. Tears of relief.

Before I have a chance to dry my eyes, Roxanne wraps her arm around my neck and kisses away the tears on my cheeks.

When she pulls back to look at me, I see that her eyes are also filled with tears.

“Elliot,” she rasps. “That was beautiful. I hope you know how strong you are.”

“Only because I have you,” I reply, leaning down to brush my lips over hers. “You make me strong.”

“So do you,” she nods.

I kiss her again, our tears intermingling as our lips and tongues dance.

When we pull apart, I dry my eyes and then kiss away her tears like she did for me.

“Enough of this sappy stuff,” I chuckle. “Let’s go watch my brother get married.”

“I can’t wait,” Roxanne beams. “Skylar is going to look so beautiful.”

I click my phone and check my phone.

“Well, she might turn into a bridezilla if her bridesmaid and Everett’s best man are late for their big day.”

Roxanne quickly looks down at her watch.

“Oh, shit,” she exhales. “We have to go. Like now.”

Roxanne chuckles as I sweep her into my arms and haul ass back to the car.

God, it’s good to be alive.
