His eyes finally dart down to my body as I cling to him, and he quirks and his lips curve in appreciation of my excitement.“I’m happy you’re into this.” He pulls me closer, my back against his hard chest.

In his embrace, I feel protected and safe. Is this what it feels like to have someone really care about me?

“Comfortable?” he asks, making sure I’m alright with his touch. When I nod, he says, “Good. They’ll be here soon. I’m going to help you see as a matchmaker can see. Okay?”

“Okay.” I brace myself, since I’m not sure what he has to do or how it will feel.

His right hand comes around my side, and he places his palm over my heart, which weirdly feels more intimate than if he positioned it over my large breast, but he must feel the swell of my breast since he’s right there.

My heart pounds with his closeness, and I suck in a breath as I feel his power move into my body.

Eros places his left hand on the back of my head, cupping the back of my head, and another wave of power floods my being.

Instantly, I see what has to be auras around people. There’s a wide range—blues, whites, yellows, reds, big, tight, fuzzy, and bright.

I look over and see a couple on a blanket sharing a picnic. A silver cord links the two at their navels and pink energy swirls around their scene.

He notices my attention on them. “They’re in love,” Eros whispers in my ear. “The silver cord shows me they are bonded.”

“It’s beautiful,” I whisper back. “Oh, can anyone hear us?”

“No. Disembodied voices tend to unsettle humans.”

I giggle. “True.”

Eros’s body tenses. “Here they are.”

There’s a fit, thirty-something woman running along the park trail. Coming from the other direction is a pleasant-looking man around the same age and attractiveness as the woman.

“Watch,” Eros says.

Just as they pass each other, her water bottle falls out of her hip pack and lands in his path. The man hurries to pick it up for her.

As the man hands the bottle to the woman, Eros whispers, “Touch.”

The couple’s hands meet during the handoff. There’s a spark, and they make eye contact.

“Apparently, my water bottle has a mind of its own,” the woman jokes. “I swear I wasn’t trying to trip you.”

“Likely story. I’m sure you both planned the whole thing.” The man smiles playfully.

“Well, we have seen you jogging here for months now, and my water bottle has wanted to approach you several times.”

“I’m glad she was finally bold enough to take theleap,” the jogger guy says with a lifted eyebrow.

A faint streak of pink floats between the joggers.

“And there they go,” Eros says as he slowly moves his hand away from my head and clasps my hand. After he secures our new physical contact, he removes his palm from my heart.

My enhanced sight stops, and I long to watch the new love story play out. “So you made her water bottle fall out and made them touch.” Eros nods, and I ask, “But what about that spark?”

“The spark was all them,” he says as he holds my waist and teleports us back to my room.

“Whoa.” I stumble into my bed to regain my faculties. “Would I be doing stuff like that all the time? Teleporting? Invisibility? Helping people fall in love?” I ask once the spinning has stopped.

“That’s the plan.” Eros guides me to the kitchen. “You should eat something to settle your nerves.”

“Will my stomach get accustomed to teleportation?”
