Anastasia

The next morning, I woke up to the gentle caress of sunlight streaming in through the window. I stretched, lifting my arms high overhead while I watched the golden rays dance on the walls.

It was a new day.

As I lay in the soft embrace of the sheets, the events of the previous night rushed back to me like a tidal wave. I blushed thinking about how Caden and Connor had decided to share me, like that was some normal thing that happened in the world. Nervousness and excitement twirled in my gut like a tornado, whirling around with wild abandon as I tried to make sense of why they would decide to share me in the first place.

A part of me was afraid it wasn’t real, but as I brushed my fingers against my forehead, I realized that I could still feel Caden’s kiss on my skin.

I pushed myself up in the bed and peeked down the hall down to my bedroom. Connor was no longer in my bed, but the blankets were ruffled and well slept in, and it wasn’t how I had left them.

Last night had been real. It hadn’t been a dream, which meant that I was going to have to face them this morning.

With a huff, I laid back on the bed and closed my eyes. Maybe if I pretended to not wake up, I wouldn’t have to go downstairs, and I wouldn’t have to deal with any of this.

I opened my eyes and sighed.

I couldn’t hide, not like this. Even if what had happened last nighthadbeen a joke and both of them had just been drunk, I still had to hold my head up high and lead what remained of my family, and I couldn’t do it from the confines of my bed.

But that didn’t mean I couldn’t procrastinate a bit more.

I pulled up the covers and groaned. I had to get out of bed eventually, and when I glanced over at the clock, my stomach growled like a velociraptor had just caught sight of its dinner. Even though I was alone in my room, I felt myself blush a little bit. I pressed my fingers to my cheeks, the flush radiating warmth in spades.

I needed to get up. I always woke up ravenous in the morning, and this one was turning out to be no different. I pushed myself out of bed and put on a brave face.

I made my way to the bathroom, still processing the mix of emotions that swirled within me. In front of the bathroom mirror, I brushed my teeth and combed my fingers through my hair, contemplating how to handle the situation. As I splashedsome cool water on my face, I knew that sooner or later, I would have to confront them both.

With a deep breath, I left the bathroom and paused at the top of the stairs. I glanced to the side to see that Caden’s bedroom door was still closed. Maybe he wasn’t awake yet, or maybe he was downstairs already, or maybe he was just as embarrassed as I was about the whole situation, or maybe I’d dreamed the whole thing.

Even as I thought that to myself, I knew it was a lie.

I swallowed hard, knowing what he was going to ask me this morning while also recognizing that he was one hundred percent going to ask me it in front of Connor.

I shivered with arousal before I could stop myself. Did I like that? My pussy clenched and I bit my lip, pressing my thighs together.

I did. I really liked that.

My stomach growled again as I stood at my bedroom door. Part of me was excited to see what the day would bring while another part of me was nervous and embarrassed to be thinking about something as wicked as being shared by two men. Licking my lips, I pressed my hands over my stomach as it growled again, knowing I couldn’t delay this much longer. I had to go downstairs.

I stepped out of my room and walked down the hall. Hesitantly, I descended down the stairs, taking the steps slowly as I contemplated grabbing something from the pantry and racing back upstairs to my room. But as I crossed the threshold into the kitchen, I stopped short in my tracks as the aroma of cooking food hit me smack in the face.

The kitchen was a spacious, contemporary haven within the old mansion, a blend of modernity and tradition. The granite countertops gleamed under the soft glow of pendant lights, while stainless steel appliances lined the walls. A large table in the center of the room served as a functional cooking space and a casual dining area, with high-backed barstools tucked beneath. The wood-paneled cabinets added warmth to the otherwise sleek environment, and a large window above the sink allowed natural light to flood in, offering a view of the lush garden outside.

Connor’s voice echoed throughout the room, and I jerked my head to the right, seeing that he was standing at the stove whipping up some eggs in a pan.

“Come on in, Anastasia. It’s your lucky day. I’m cooking you a full Irish breakfast.”

Curiosity got the best of me, and I couldn’t help but ask, “What exactly is a full Irish breakfast?”

He glanced over his shoulder with a grin and continued flipping some sausages in a sizzling pan. “It’s a hearty meal that’ll set you up for the day. We’ve got sausages, rashers, black pudding, white pudding, eggs, and some grilled tomatoes and mushrooms.”

I raised an eyebrow, trying to make sense of the terminology. “Rashers? Black pudding? White pudding?”

Connor chuckled as he explained. “Rashers are just crispy bacon, black pudding is a type of sausage made from pork blood and other ingredients, and white pudding is a milder version of it. Don’t worry, it’s delicious.”

As I took in the mouthwatering smells wafting from the stove, I couldn’t help but feel a bit overwhelmed by the unfamiliar feast. “Sounds… interesting.”

Connor laughed again. “Trust me, you’ll love it. It’s the best way to start the day.”
