“You’re a pig,” Val told him.

“I’m just passionate, darlin’.”

“Call me darling again and I’ll steal your head and give it to Frank and Beans.”

Several of the wrestlers gasped. Gabe looked scandalised, pressing a hand to his cross-covered chest.

“That ain’t even funny,” Dan snapped, protectively snatching up his head and cradling it to his chest. “That’s sick, Val. You know what happened last time I fell asleep in here and they ran off with my head.”

“They did karate on it,” Holt murmured to me quietly. “And cut his hair. He woke up with a bob, a black eye and a big dick drawn on his forehead. Val,” he added in a louder voice. “Please don’t threaten your colleagues with Frank and Beans.”

“Okay, that was too far,” she muttered, gruffly adding, “Sorry.”

“Anyway.” Holt cleared his throat. “Good job, everyone. You already know the line-up for tomorrow, but if you have any questions, just let me know.”

“Are you staying to hang out?” Kit asked me instantly. “Maybe play some Moth Sim?”

“Yeah, you want a drink, Taylor?” Gabe grinned at me slyly. “Maybe Biff and I can demonstrate a few of our moves…”

Holt’s arm slipped possessively around my waist. “I don’t think so, Gabe.”

The incubus just smirked. “Boss is all growly and protective of his human. It’s hot.”

“You want me to get all growly and protective of you, sweetcheeks?” Biff slid his thick arm around Gabe’s neck from behind, leaning down to nuzzle his ear.

I glanced at Larkin to see him staring at them, his cheeks flushed and his beer bottle clutched in his hand, forgotten. Then Gabe looked at him and smirked, sliding his hand over Biff’s thick forearm. Larkin’s throat bobbed. His gaze darted to Seb as the werewolf stood up from the couch and made his way over to us.

Larkin hurriedly turned to Susan. “Hey, Susan, want a drink?”

“Sure, sweetie.” The pair of them walked over to the fridge, and when I looked at Gabe again, the incubus just seemed a little confused.

As much as I wanted to unpick what the heck was going on with Larkin, Seb and the wrestlers, I wanted to leave and go back to Holt’s place more. I was guessing we had to wait until the bar closed and the place was empty, though.

“Boss.” Seb reached us, his face as stoic as ever. “If Taylor has his car and can drive you home, I’ll lock up if you want to take off now.”

“Are you sure?” Holt asked as my belly clenched with excited anticipation.

Seb nodded, then flashed me one of his tiny, brief smiles. “Assuming you trust Taylor not to kidnap you and hold you for ransom.”

“I’d be an extremely willing hostage if he did.” Holt’s hand drifted down my back to squeeze my ass. “Thanks, Seb. That’d be great.”

“No problem. I’ll turn everything off once the bar’s empty.”

“Thanks,” Holt repeated, then started tugging me toward the door. “Let’s go.”

“Bye, T-bone!” Kit called after us. “We’ll play Moth Sim tomorrow, yeah?”

“Uh-huh,” I called back as Holt opened the door and led me into the hallway. To him, I said, “So is it Seb’s car that he drives you around in?”

“Yeah. Well, I bought it for him. To drive me around. I can drive, but…” He shrugged, grinning over at me. “I like being driven around. I’m bougie like that.”

I chuckled. “Well, my car’s pretty old. Hope it’s up to your standards.”

“I’ve already been in it, remember?” He squeezed my side. “Not that I can remember much of that drive. I’m pretty sure I was passed out for most of it.”

“You were. Snoring on my shoulder with your mouth hanging wide open.”

“Well, with that seductive image in your head…” He pressed a kiss to my temple. “Let’s go back to my place and fuck.”
