Havoc sits up, rolling to my side so that we are both facing each other.

“So that’s it? Okay?”

“For now.”

He searches my eyes, then leans in to plant a kiss on my nose.

“If I would have known all you needed was a good orgasm, I could have done that weeks ago.” His chuckle brings a smile to my face.

“I think this was good timing.”

He wraps an arm around me and adjusts us until my head is lying on his chest, and the soothing sound of his heartbeat lulls me to sleep.

“It was perfect.” His fingers comb through my hair just like Arrow normally does.

Wedding checklists can wait till morning, this is what I needed more than anything in the world. I think even my best friend would agree with that.

Chapter 10

I wake up with my girl in my arms and everything feels right with the world again. We haven’t talked, but she let me hold her and she stayed. I may or may not have ripped her skirt in order to ensure that. But she didn’t even fight it.

Arrow and I have been working hard on a plan to show Laney we’re serious about this, and I think I’ve finally found the missing piece.

When I first opened the door to see Laney standing there, I thought it was a joke, that the universe was making me see the things I so desperately wanted. But when her eyes dropped to my lips, I couldn’t stop myself.

I held back so many times waiting for her to make the first move, for her to show me that I was what made her feel safe again. With that one glance, I believed she was mine again. The way she melted into our kiss just proved she was letting me back in, and that this was fixable.

Very few times in my life have I ever had sex with a woman that was that slow and meaningful. Hell, with Vi it almost always had to be a scene with us. Role play was her fantasy, and she almost never got off without it.

But with Laney, everything is different. With each thrust of my cock, I felt her walls grip me as if they never wanted me to leave. When she promised to stop pushing me away, it was the first time I felt like we had moved forward since the utter devastation we faced taking on Adrik the first time.

Laney tucks herself into my chest and inhales. Her eyes flutter open before they widen and she shoots straight up.

“Shrimps on a stick, what time is it?”

I laugh as I slide out of bed and help her stand. She looks up at me with panic, and I’m relieved to see that none of it is from last night. This is Laney’s planning brain talking here.

“It is six in the morning, you have plenty of time.” I lean down and capture her lips with mine, causing her to sigh into me. I know this day is important. My body wakes up naturally at about five, so I’ve already got my fill of my girl for the day while I watched her sleep and held her close.

“I’ll get you a pair of my shorts, then you can get to planning. I’ve arranged for the guys to help us out a bit this morning so things would be less stressful for you. Lev dropped off gifts to the suite you will be getting ready in, so that should take care of clothing. Your dress is in there, already steamed and hanging up. Alexi will be ordering breakfast food to arrive at seven.”

She looks dumbfounded. I feel like I should be offended by that. I’m not just the muscle around here, I can be a planner too if it means my girl gets a little more rest.

“When did you wake up?” She wraps her arms around my neck.

“Five. I held you close and dealt with things from my phone. It pays to be a man who has authority over two hundred mafia men all trying to make a good impression.”

I wink and she grins, running her hands down my chest.

“If those men are the ones that steamed my dress, I might have to go tell them thank you.”

I wrap my hand around her back and pull her close.

“I would be careful about who you put in my path, Unicorn. You never know when my trigger finger might slip if they so much as look at you the wrong way.”

She laughs, throwing her head back as if I just made a joke.I didn’t.

“Alright there, Killer. No need to defend my honor.” She kisses me then pulls back to grab some clothes. As much as I hate her covering herself, I love seeing her in my shirts. It’s humorous how big they are on her.
