Radon is one who actually pays attention to these things. Luckily, Vinny can do some impressive art in just twentyminutes. I let myself into his office, chewing my gum loudly to announce my presence.

“Baby, look at my new pretty nails.”

I dash to his desk before the guards can grab me while fully ignoring the two men behind me. If I look, Radon will know.

Throwing myself into his lap, I gush about the salon.

“Oh my goodness, you would not believe my day. That manicurist, Devon, remember the one I told you messed up my toes? He got fired. Yeah, it turns out he was stealing supplies and trying to set up his own little boutique over on Lamiere Street, but Vin caught him and…”

“Baby,” he shushes me with a finger to my lips. But the smile on his face says he doesn’t suspect a thing. Radon may be smart, but he dismisses me just like all the rest of them. “I have investors here.”

Only then do I turn my head to look.

“Oh.” I scramble off his lap, but he pulls me back down, pressing his hard length into my back.

I have to hold back a gag but do it effortlessly because I am used to this behavior by now. I haven’t slept with him yet, and I don’t plan on it. But he likes to rub his disgusting cock all over me every chance he gets.

They begin to talk business while I pretend to play on my phone while blowing a bubble with my gum here and there. One of the investors, Brian, eyes me a few times and asks if they should be concerned about my presence.

Perceptive little snake.

Radon assures them I am harmless as he tightens his hold on my leg. I pretend not to hear any of it and randomly chuckle over a meme here and there. To be fair, some of them are pretty funny. I show them to Radon, and he pays attention to me like one would a child.

His face lights up in a way that not only tells me he thinks he’s superior to me, but also that I don’t have enough brain cells to connect two thoughts.

All the while, I acquire their names and hear their plans. They even go so far as to mention the routes they plan to use. Every time I take on one of these men, I question why people think that the male population is loftier than us women. They may fight with their fists and use war tactics, but women fight on another level.

We lure you in and make you believe we like you. We lie effortlessly and manipulate the enemy's emotions as easily as if they were our own. Not even the Trojan horse can rival a woman’s mind set on destruction.

The meeting wraps up, and I pretend not to notice as the two men leave. Radon’s grip on me turns possessive. I know I need to get out of here and end this with him now. However, as soon as I try to stand, he pulls me back down again.

“Do you like being a cock tease when I’m in meetings, doll?”

I shiver, but not for a good reason. I hate being called a doll. I’m not a freaking toy. He bites my neck as I stand, acting playful. I have to be able to walk out of here, so spoiling who I am and my plans cannot happen even if I do want to rub it in his smug face.

“I was teasing no one,” I say playfully. “But I really wanted a new dress for dinner tonight, so I’m going to go shopping.”

I turn to leave, but he grabs me. His hand twists the skin on my arm until it burns. I’m not a wimp when it comes to pain, so when he continues to squeeze, I know it is to get a rise out of me.

I try to push it off.

“Stop it,” I say jokingly. “That hurts, Radon.”

Frick on a cracker. He hears the change in my voice instantly. I never call him by his name. His body cages me in as he backs me against his bookshelf.

“I didn’t give you my black card to go and spoil yourself at the spa today to get nothing in return. Get on your knees. You owe me.”

I try to shove at him. This was not part of the plan. While most mafia men love to be the big bad boss in the room when their business partners are around, most like to be subs with their women. I knew Radon was different, but I did not think he would do this.

“I don’t owe you anything,” I snap back at him.

His eyes turn into dark voids, ones that will haunt me in my sleep for years to come.

“Wrong, little doll. You owe me everything.”

The menace behind his words chills me to the bone. But it’s what comes next that has me breaking into a sweat and fighting for my life. The pain consumes me as he takes and takes and takes. He claims every little piece of me that I wasn’t ready to give to anyone.

Three days later, he finally let me go, claiming I was the most expensive and useless lay he’d ever had. My whole body hurts as I open my car door and slam it shut behind me. My hands shake as I reach for the keys and my mind feels like it would break. But the worst part is, all I can hear myself saying in my head is, ‘You never told him no.’
