I help him out, leaning over to fasten the clasp that locks in place. It can be removed with a pin, but once it’s on, it’s staying there unless they want it removed. He still looks half asleep. Idon’t think he even heard my question, so I forget about it when his lips meet mine.

I feel like it’s a bad thing that my mind is basically conditioned to expect sex everyday. And I didn’t get anything yesterday, so I literally want to jump this man right here. Then, I remember I own my sexual freedom and say screw it, maybe I should just take what I want.

Leaning in, I claim his mouth, and he drags me into his lap. Arrow’s morning wood is so stiff under me I can’t help but grind into it. He’s naked, but my shorts separate us and I hate it. Just when I start to push up to remove them, Havoc clears his throat.

“Maybe we should give her the gift first, then fuck her?”

He phrases it like a question, making me look between them curiously before I notice a pink leather box in Havoc’s hand.

Holy fudge-balls it’s happening. It’s happening.

I actually squeal before leaping off of Arrow’s lap and moving to the end of the bed. Havoc grins at me as he hands me the box, and I crack it open. Instantly, my eyes glass over with tears.

My fingers tremble as I remove the thin rose gold collar with a subtle rainbow iridescence to it. A cat charm sits in the center of the circle that marks me as theirs. It’s the most perfect thing I’ve ever seen.

I wear my unicorn necklace daily, but now I have something new. This means more than just a promise. It’s a vow I take more seriously than any ring, and I know the two of them do too.

“Will you be ours, Kitten?”

“Only ours, forever?”

I nod my head and grab both of them to kiss together. I don’t want this moment to be about my love for Havoc or Arrow. This is about all of us and how we’ll always have a part of each other at all times. The locking clasp on it only confirms how much they mean this.

“Forever,” I say as we separate.

The two loves of my life hold me close as we cuddle together and cement our relationship. One was my teacher and the other my trainer. They have both fought for me and with me. Believed in me when I had trouble believing in myself. We defended our family from the scaries of the underworld and lived to tell the tale.

No one will separate us now.

Chapter 34

We are in the car approaching the warehouse. Havoc is in full tactical gear as is Laney beside him. The mood isn’t somber, just more quiet than normal. We know the plan. I believe Dr. K has this moment laid out perfectly.

I have no doubt everything is going to go well, but I am wary about facing my mother. I haven’t seen her in over twenty years. I’m terrified her face will trigger all sorts of horrible memories, or that I’ll shoot her on the spot without Havoc getting the answers he needs.

We file out of the car once parked. I grab Havoc to kiss him then do the same with Laney.

“We got this,” she whispers, and I nod with a small smile. We do. This is for my brother. This is for my family, whom I will protect with every fiber of my being. My solid collar weighs heavily on my neck, pressing into my skin while the gleam of my wrist cuff catches the sun when I lift the gun to enter the building, both reminding me I will never be alone in this life. There’s only seven of us here today, so everything has to go off without a hitch.

When Dr. K signals that the feeds have been cut, we carefully enter the back door. Havoc moves in first, scanning the area before motioning to Laney. Dr. K follows her and I bring up the back end. The scent of pizza becomes apparent as we get closer to my mothers office. My stomach growls at the aroma.

Her office comes into view, and I spot pineapple on a leftover plate of pizza, making me want to shoot her for just ruining one of my favorite meals. We surround the door, ready to take her down when suddenly it slams in our face, startling everyone. Gas begins to fill the room, and the door behind us seals shut.

My mothers face comes into view behind the glass. She winks at me, right before my heart nearly pounds out of my chest and my world goes dark.

She knew we were coming.

???

When I wake up, my eyelids feel heavy as they lift. Immediately, I search around the room for Havoc and Laney. Havoc is already awake, looking around the dimly lit space while Dr. K and Laney are still passed out.

“How many?” I whisper, tugging on my bindings. We’re lined up next to each other, tied down to chairs with Havoc and me in the middle and Laney and Dr. K on either side of us. It’s like sheknew we would want to protect them and left them exposed just to mess with us.

I take a breath to clear my head. I can’t let her get to me. We have to think straight here.

“I haven’t seen anyone. But this lighting is shit.”

We keep our voices as low as possible as we tug on our bindings. Eventually, the girls wake up, and we all try to formulate a plan. However, just as we all start thinking clearly, a clap echoes around us.
