Leeson nudged him. The gesture must’ve measured up to ashut-upand I almost wanted to giggle. “Not your mom or cousins or anyone?”

I shook my head. “My mother is an alpha. It’s just been us.”

“Woah,” said Jacob. “That must’ve been… intense.”

“Not really.” I thought about it. “No more than any other mom, I’m sure.”

“I just meant that you guys were on your own.”

“It wasn’t bad I mean…” Why were we even talking about this again? “She just wanted the best for me and not just for my designation.”

“That makes sense then.”

“What does?”

“Why you’re at Velnova. I’d been wondering about it since you ran into me the other day,” said Leeson.

“I ran into you?” I raised an eyebrow.

We both knew that wasn’t how it went down.

Or how we went down quite literally.

His eyes glimmered in jest. “Sure. ‘Course I didn’t think my pack mate would bring you home.”

“Pack mate?” My mouth turned dry.

Leeson and Jacob and whoever else was in this apartment considered themselves a pack? I thought they were college students and college students didn’t just become packs. At least, I didn’t think they did.

Alphas had lives ahead of them in nearly anything they wanted so long as they were at least a little passionate about it. Usually, that didn’t include packing up at the ripe age of twenty-something.

Jacob grinned wider, unable to help himself but bark a laugh at my face. I reached up to make sure it wasn’t my hair either that was likely sticking out at all angles.

Maybe I could use that coffee.

Or to find my shoes.

And my bag.

And immediately get out of here.

That was what I should’ve done.

Leeson pushed the mug over towards me with room left at the top. I reached out my hands and accepted, feeling the warm seep into my hands.

My shoulders slumped in a sort of relief at the gesture. “Do you have cream and sugar?”

“Coming right up.”

“Sit down,” directed Jacob. “Relax for a little. It’s Saturday morning. It’s basically on schedule.”

Relaxing was on their Saturday schedule? They had a schedule?

I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised any longer. The entire apartment seemed to be decorated and put together. Maybe it came this way when they moved in? Still, it was clean and tidy. More so than I ever would’ve expected from any group of guys living together let alone what was three… alphas.

Three.I swallowed, resisting the urge to get up and blot to the door once and for all. Because the coffee Leeson returned tome, this time with cream and sugar smelled divine. When I took a sip, it was the perfect sweetness.

They all watched me for my review. I didn’t give one before I held the mug tightly between my hands.
