She had barely glanced at the girls coming from the bedroom, but now, one crouched down in front of her, completely naked, and frowned. “You okay, girl? Whoever he is, we can make you forget him. Come with us, we like sharing, and Bella is great with her tongue—”

“No, I’m okay. Go have fun. I’ll be out of here in a minute, I’m sure.”

The woman looked her up and down suggestively and let go of her hand to stroll back into the bedroom area.

Why did she feel like she was in the twilight zone tonight? She needed to get out of here. Contrary to most people here, getting invited into a foursome with one of her good friends was not at the top of her list, but she wasn’t surprised. This was exactly why she started her secret news channel a year ago. People wouldn’t believe the wild stuff wolf shifters did when they were outside the pack and out from under the watchful eye of their Alphas.

By the time the girls had disappeared, Keoni was frowning in front of her, holding the note from the door. “I think you should come with me. Link Gio and Travis and have them come up here too.”

Fuck. Reaching out via mindlink to Gio, she sent him a brief message, but Travis had her blocked. She couldn’t focus on that right now. Her mind spun with what he might have found in her room, and she numbly followed him through the open door.

Past the living area with the couch, she stepped into the separate bedroom where she had set her stuff up. She was expecting to see the mess she left: all the makeup, clothes, and hair products should have been spread all over the room and bathroom. Instead, her bags were packed and stacked neatly on her bed. There was a note on her pillow with a knife stabbed through it.

No more news for you. You’re coming home with me, Bailey. It’s where you belong.

“I’ve checked every corner of the room. There’s no one here right now, and I can’t figure out how they got in. I think you should come stay in my room…” He looked at her with worry ashe trailed off. “Did you already pack all this up before you left or…”

“No. I didn’t. My room was a mess, like it always is. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. This is creepy.”

She sank down onto the bed, rubbing her face, not knowing what to do or what to say. No one knew the extent of her stalker’s emails, and it was hard to explain. But the longer she sat there, the more she realized she shouldn’t have involved any of the guys and should have handled it on her own.

The man was clearly psychotic and obsessed. Guys like him could easily be handled if she focused on the problem. He wasn’t really a threat, just a nuisance, and she’d spent her whole life fending off nuisance wolf shifter males. She had to handle this because if she couldn’t, the guys would freak out and tell her Alpha.

“Hey, got your link. What’s going on?”

Gio’s thick, overly muscled frame filled the bedroom door, and she could barely see the tiny brunette behind him. She had a moment of panic, one where she felt like things had gotten out of control. She shouldn’t have called him either. If it had been Travis, she could have intimidated him into keeping quiet, but Keoni, and especially Gio—they would both tell Ava. Her Alpha, best friend or not, would make her come home. Hell, she’d be lucky if Ava didn’t shut all the parties down until they found him. That was exactly the opposite of what she wanted. She liked her freedom, and she enjoyed running her channel.

She had to fix this.

“It’s fine. I have a stalker, and he’s lost his mind. We need to find him and take care of it. I can handle it. I got freaked out for a minute, but it’s no big deal. I’ll go down and get a different room, then we can head out in the morning.”

“Like hell you are. Look at notes he’s been leaving her.” Keoni handed him the note from the door, then the one from the planter. “Didn’t you say there were more?”

She didn’t answer, only watched Gio as he grabbed the note from the pillow and pulled the knife to his nose, then handed it to Keoni, who did the same. “That scent…it’s…off. Can you place it?”

“Look, it’s probably some incel douche on the tour no one talks to—”

“Then why can’t we smell his scent anywhere else in the room? He’s either a witch or he is disguising it, like you have been doing.”

That thought hadn’t occurred to her, but she quickly squashed it. “If he was a witch, he would have acted a long time ago. No, this is the work of a shifter, trust me.” She decided not to mention the dozens, probably hundreds, of emails from him already, many referencing his pack and her place in it. She thought he was crazy and harmless back then. Right now, not so much, but she wouldn’t let him run her away from the things she loved.

She had spent too much time carefully making a life of her own, free of her parents, free of her pack, and free from expectations. No rejected wolf twerp was going to take that from her. So, she squared her shoulders and reminded herself who she was.

“Look, I’ve had a long night, and an even longer weekend. I have footage to go through from the party, especially if we are going to get on the road tomorrow with no Wi-Fi. I’ll double-lock the door on the inside and be fine. You two go back to whatever and whoever you were doing.”

“I don’t like that. He got into your room—”

“Probably slipped in behind housekeeping. Easy enough to do around here with all that’s going on. We will look at the hotelvideo feed in the morning. You guys are literally feet away. He’s just trying to scare me. He accomplished that already, so let’s move on.”

“I’ll feel better when Travis gets here.”

“Yeah, that’s not happening. He’s left the building and went to a party in the city.”

“Then one of us is staying with you. No excuses.”

At this, she stood to face Gio, who was the one insisting on arguing with her. “For fuck’s sake, Gio. I’m a grown woman, and you’re not my dad. I appreciate both of you checking the room for me, but I’m good now.”

A slow grin filled Keoni’s face, and with the slightest of movements, his tall, wide frame towered over her, his arm leaning against the wall behind her. “You’re welcome to call me daddy anytime. I’ve been telling you there’s an open invitation. Especially since you’d be safe under me, on top of me, in front of me…”
