“No. Nothing. Just you yelling at someone like they were in front of you. I couldn’t hear your exact words from the hallway. Just you screaming. That’s all we needed. Audio isn’t in your bedroom, and shift leaders are the only ones who can hear it. So, me during the day, and then Vinny at night. Your parents knew. It wasn’t a secret, I think we just forgot to tell you since you were gone.”

“I can’t live like this. This is insane. You’re not coming inside the house. No. I won’t allow it.”

“If it was just a false alarm, we can pull back out. You’re sure he wasn’t in here? You sounded pissed.”

“Don’t you think I would tell you? You’re about to hear me really pissed. Out.”

Glaring, she waited until everyone had gone back out and went back to their assigned stations. As annoyed as she was at first, she had to admit, she was glad they had cleared the house. There was a small sense of relief with that, but knowing they were watching and listening to her every move? And they wanted to station themselves inside too? That was overboard. Now, there was no way in hell she was telling them he’d actually been here. She could only imagine how that would go.

It took an hour for her to calm down, to rethink everything. He was here, but if she told people, they would basically imprison her because he was uncatchable at this point. He had known and hadn’t made a move on purpose. He wasn’t going to give up though, but she could take her own precautions.

Her first instinct was to go back to Tuisa. She didn’t care how many people were surrounding her house, there was only one person who made her feel safe.

Fuck. Now that she’d put some space between them, all she’d thought about last night was going back, and yet, she could see how bad of an idea it was. Yet, if she stayed here, the damn stalker would torture her and find a way to take her.

To her, it made sense that she hadn’t heard from the psycho until she showed up here. He couldn’t get into Tuisa, so he hadn’t known exactly where she was, and if he was hiding somewhere on Aisling property, probably in wolf form, he hadn’t been watching the channel to see her on the tour. She needed to be gone from Aisling for more than three days. He needed to be forced to give up and leave the pack for food or phone service. She needed to make a big deal of packing huge bags and let him see her leave again.

If he didn’t see her for a while, he’d leave if he couldn’t verify where she was, maybe even start checking her channel again.Maybe he just followed the mate tour around watching her. Plain and simple, she hadn’t been gone long enough for him to have left Aisling, and that’s what Axel and Nicholas had been counting on. They were right about that, but their mistake was in assuming his desperation would make him dumb. The man wasn’t dumb. He’d proven that.

Maybe if they had just listened to her ideas, or even brought her in on their little bait plans, she could have helped. No, between Nicholas and Axel, they really thought they could catch this stalker without including her. That was dumb though—she was the one in his head, she was the one dealing with him. He wasn’t going to take her in front of all the guards, but she also knew he wouldn’t go over to Tuisa. He wasn’t watching her over there. Over there was the unknown for him. That was the ticket for making him go back to the mating tours to look for her. It just might take longer for him to lash out again. No, he wasn’t stupid. And he wasn’t desperate enough yet. Today proved that.

Done going back and forth in her head, she worked through a plan quickly, deciding to keep the two notes to herself, and just go back over to Tuisa and disappear for the week. There’s no way he could stick around that long, he’d have to get curious and go back on the tour.

She tried not to think about how her instincts were all pushing her back to Tuisa anyway, instead she focused on the logic of the situation. This is what made sense. It didn’t matter that she wanted to see him. This was more than that. Just one more week. She could do this. She could be strong.

Keoni was dead-on when he said she’d made things worse with Nassau. Since they had fucked, every instinct of her wolf’s had magnified. It’s like her wolf was trying to work overtime to get his wolf to recognize her. Not gonna happen. The necklace was going strong to protect her scent.

Hopefully, they wouldn’t protest too much if she went back over. Axel may have made these plans for her to be bait this weekend, but the weekend was officially over. He said she’d be back on Monday if needed.

Well, she needed.

She had a feeling he never planned on bringing her back though, not after catching Nassau in her room. So, she would do it for him. She thought about just driving over, but knew the Tuisa guards would stop her, so she contacted her Beta first. He would be the easy one.

“Hey Nicky. You busy?”

She could feel his heavy sigh over the link. He hated being called Nicky, but that was the beauty of it. He’d be ready to get rid of her.“Never too busy for my favorite pain in the ass.”

“Awww, I’ve beat out Trav? Thought he held that special place in your heart.”

“He did until you created a news station that puts your life and this pack at risk. Then caused our warriors to panic because you wanted a yelling session. No, you get the special new title.”

“To be fair, you didn’t tell me you were spying on me. If I had known, I would have had my hysterical breakdown in a closet or been a little quieter for them. Thanks for that, by the way. I almost had a heart attack.”

“Figured your parents would tell you. But if he was around, I’m sure the heavy warrior presence had to have scared him off now. No way to keep them incognito anymore.”

She almost snorted at that. They were so far from incognito before that.“Speaking of that. I know you’re sending me back over to Tuisa for the week since the psycho alpha didn’t show his face yet. Figured I would head over there tonight. Less people to see me in the morning when everyone is going to work and such.”

“I’ve upped border patrol, and there have been no sightings of him lately. It’s better you stay here. I don’t think we will need their help anymore.”

Her heart dropped, but she recovered quickly. She’d knew they were never going to send her back. She had to take this into her own hands.

“That’s too bad. There are a few loose ends I wanted to tie up over there this week.”

“Yeah, Alpha Axel told me about your loose ends. We both think you should stay over here.”

Bastards. Everyone was always interfering.

She sighed, making sure he could hear it over the link.“Don’t make me act out. I just want to take dinner over and thank everyone for helping me. And there’s a horse I was helping to break. You know how I like to finish things I start. Just the week. Come on. You know you don’t want to deal with me all week anyway. Might as well be safe rather than sorry. Especially if this dude knows how to get past our borders. It’s only been like four days. What if he’s still here?”
