“I’ll put those in. And your food should be out shortly.”

“You’re going to get me drunk.” I laugh.

“I’m barely even buzzed.” He laughs. “But yes, is that not the point? Get drunk, have some fun, and pass out?”

“I guess.” I shrug.

“Did you have something else in mind?”

“No. Not really.”

But yes, I did. I thought we could add sex to that list, but I’m not about to say that to him.

“Do you not want me to get drunk? Because you say the word, and I will cut myself off.”

“You’d do that for me?”

“Sure.” He smiles.

“Maybe just slow down.” I say softly. “You are hard to keep up with.”

He laughs. “You’re just tiny.”

I smile at that. I liked him thinking I was tiny.

He laughs again. “That’s probably the best compliment I could pay you.”

“That or comment on my voice.”

“You have an amazing voice. I didn’t think a voice could turn me on, but yours, it does something to me. It gives me goosebumps and a partial.”

I laugh. “My voice gives you a boner?”

“Live. Hearing you live gives me the beginnings of a boner.” I blush. “How does that make you feel?”

I take another sip of my drink, needing some liquid courage to say what I want to say.

“Wet.” I say with as straight of a face as I can.

“Tsk. Tsk. Abigail. We are trying to behave ourselves here, friend.”

I roll my eyes. “You asked.”

“I did. I just wasn’t expecting such a risky reply.” My face flushes with heat. I can’t believe I just said that. “You are so cute when you blush.”

The server came by with our food. He sets a plate in front of me. It’s grilled salmon on a bed of green with a reddish-orange sauce drizzled over it in a pretty pattern.

“Thank you.” Wes says as they set his plate in front of him.

“I will be back shortly with the drinks you ordered.”

I can’t even look up at him. The portions are small. And at least it wasn’t another sandwich. It is much healthier than a sandwich, too, but it is still food, the scent of which made my stomach twist uneasily.

“What kind of prize should this earn you?” Wes asks, and I lift my gaze up to him.

“The prize is my own hotel room.” I say. “I’ve already been gifted my prize. Now I just have to do it.”

“We will split dessert. Sue doesn’t need to know. It will be our little secret.”
