“No, you didn’t but you also didn’t tell us about your brother right away, did you?” Creed growled. “Not until you were forced to and that makes you as guilty as he is.”

“Son, I’ve seen Creed mad before but never this mad,” Silas told Oscar. “If you don’t want him to tear off your head and piss down your neck, I’d tell him where you and your brother are staying before he actually does lose his temper.”

Oscar looked into Creed’s flinty eyes and swallowed hard. “We’re staying at the Comfort Inn, room number 5. His name is Alverez.”

Creed threw Oscar down on the floor. Oscar screamed as he passed out from the pain.

Creed looked over at Tate, Harry and Bear. “Let’s go get that motherfucker.”

Silas watched as they left the barn. Then he turned to look at Rambo and smiled. “You did good tonight, Rambo. You protected your women proudly.”

Rambo went back over to the gate and waited until Silas opened it before he went back inside the pen with his girls.

Danny and Jack stepped over and looked from Oscar to Silas.

“I gotta place to stash him.” Silas motioned to a door, just under the loft.

His grandsons went over to pick up the unconscious man by his ankle and his underarms. They dragged him over to the door to the tack room. It opened to a cellar where they could hold prisoners if they ever needed to. He just never thought he would need to. Dragging him down the steps to the lower level, the boys set him down on the ground.

Silas went over and shook his head at Oscar. “Dumb fool.” He made the man comfortable, but he left him tied up. He climbed the steps after his grandsons, then shut and locked the door.

“We got the first watch, Pops,” Jack said as he and Daniel went out the barn door.

Turning the lights off, Silas paused as he heard small but peaceful sounding bleats coming from the goat pen. Smiling, he shook his head. “The nannies sound happy now.” He went out then headed to the house.

When Creed, Tate, Harry and Bear reached the Comfort Inn in Kilian, they found room number five easily. The lights were on inside the room. Harry went around the back and stood guard while Creed kicked the door in and caught the man resting on the bed by surprise.

The man on the bed reached for his weapon but Creed threw his knife first and it struck the other man in the wrist. The knife was thrown with such force it went all the way through and the now injured man screamed out in pain.

Creed reached him and threw a punch to his jaw that put the other man out.

Bear moved him out of the way and turned him over, tying his hands behind his back. After he withdrew the blade, he wrapped the wound in a towel. Finally, he cleaned the blood off the weapon and gave it back to Creed.

Tate had been looking around the room for any other information he could find on the men and why they were here but he came up short. Then he noticed a bible on the bedside table and reached for it. He opened it and a bunch of papers fell out of the book. Tate picked them up from the floor to look at them. “Sonofabitch.”

Creed looked over at him. “What is it, Dad?”

“I don’t think these boys are working for the Gola cartel boys,” Tatestated.

Bear frowned and asked, “What are you talking about?”

“These two are working for Liam Stoughton. They are here under orders from Liam.” Tate growled.

“To do what?” Creed asked.

“To get our women and take Lola back to him.”

“Ok, we have to sideline these two brothers,” Tate said. “Then keep an eye out for any more men coming to finish what they started.”

Harry came through the door and shook his head when he found what they were doing. “What’s going on?” he asked.

“We just found out who the ‘they’ are and who they really work for. It isn’t the Gola cartel,” Creed told his brother.

“Who is it then?” Harry frowned.

“Liam Stoughton,” Tate told his son. “He arranged for these two to come here after Lola and Midge for a price.”
