Harry shook his head. “The leader of the Irish mob and he’s bad news for anyone who ever crossed him. We got lucky last year when we didn’t have to deal with that man directly. I guess our luck just ran out.”

Come on then,” Tate said as he nodded at the unconscious man on the bed. “Let's get back to the farm and start looking for Liam. He’s the one we need to stop.”

“I got him.” Bear nodded.

“I better call and get the compound on lockdown until we find and stop Liam,” Creed told them. “We'll have to stay with grandpa until this is over. This time, I’ll bury that fucker where no one will find him. I should have done it a year ago but Lola just wanted to get away from all the fighting going on. We thought the cops would put him away and keep him under lock and key but apparently that didn’t happen.”

“Let’s get back and grill this guy,” Harry suggested. “We need to find out what happened to make him use thugs to come after the women.”

Bear carried Alverez out over his shoulder and when he dumped him into the back of the truck, the man just groaned. Bear secured him and then they took off for Silas’s farm.

When they got there, they took him to the barn.

The man groused and groaned when they tossed him onto the straw.

“Wake up, loser,” Creed growled.

The man opened his eyes and stared up. Then he yelled out in pain. “You almost severed my wrist!”

“Yeah,” Creed replied. “Almost being the keyword. Tell me why Liam hired you.”

Alvarez glared up at him.

“Oh? Nothing to say now?” Creed moved over and stepped on his wrist.

Screaming in utter pain, Alvarez pleaded for him to stop.

Creed gave him a cold grin as he stepped off. “Talk or I will stomp it so hard, you will have to have your entire arm amputated.”

The man was in tears as he groaned and whimpered.

“TALK!” Creed sneered down at him. “Why is Liam after my wife?”

“Ok, si, si! It’s because he knows she’s the one who got them all arrested and turned Ginger over to Hector. Liam ordered us to bring her back to him so he could do to her what Hector did to his sister. Hector wasn’t pleased with what Ginger had been doing and he took her apart piece by piece. All the police ever found of her was her finger. They ID'd her by her fingerprint.” He now started to sob like a little boy. “That’s all I know!”

“Oh, hell no,” Creed stated. “That bitch got just what she deserved. Between the two of them, they almost started a war no one would have won. Hector, if he did this, was just taking out the trash.”

“True, but now we have to take Liam out,” Silas said as he turned to show them to the room under the barn.

They dumped Alvarez with his brother and locked the pair of them up. Then they all went up to the house.

Creed found Lola and Cletas waiting for him.

When he sat down beside her, he took Cletas from her.

Resting her head on his shoulder, Lola said, “I’m so glad you guys are back and everyone is safe.”

“Yeah?” Creed growled. “Well, safe’s a relative term, darlin.”

Lola raised her head to ask, “What does that mean?”

“Some bastard broke into our house and ransacked it when he couldn’t find you,” Creed informed her. “Then we found the second man but we also found out who’s behind all this shit.”

Lola glanced at Midge then asked him, “Who is it?”

“Liam fucking Stoughton.” Creed growled.

Lola paled and began to shake. “Why would he do something like this?”
