By the time I finish working on Bristol’s car, I’m ready to burn the bitch or blow the damn car up. It’s been nothing but a pain in my ass. It’s the end of the day, and I wanted to be out of here before she came to get her damn vehicle.

And it looks like that’s not going to happen.

“Bristol’s car all fixed?” Ghost asks, wiping his hands on one of the grease rags.

“Yeah, the damn thing’s done,” I grumble, slamming the hood back down.

“Good, ‘cause that lawyer she works for is dropping her off.”

Great, just what I need. Seeing Bristol as well as her with her lawyer. It’s enough to make me want to drink again tonight, and I don’t give a fuck about if I get another hangover. It’s fucking well worth it not to have to think about her for a little while.

“Right, well, it’s ready for when she gets here. Just let me grab the keys from the ignition.”

No sooner did those words come out of my mouth a sporty-looking car pulled into the lot. Turning to it, it’s all I can do tokeep from stepping out there as I watch the car park and both doors open.

My blood turns to ice as my eyes lock with the shit-eating grin on the man’s face. A face I haven’t seen in years.

My brother’s.

“Everett.” The name passes my lips on a snarl.

“Well, if it isn’t my big brother. Damn if it isn’t good to see you, Jarrett.”

CHAPTER 4

BRISTOL

Big brother?

I stare wide-eyed between the two men and, for the first time, really see the resemblance. How had I not recognized it before? My boss shared some remarkable resemblances to the man I’ve wanted for so long.

“Your . . .” I clear my throat and swallow. “You two are brothers?” I ask, unable to keep from staring at them gapingly.

“That we are, Bristol,” Everett, my boss, says, nodding as he slowly looks from Beast to meet my gaze.

“What are you doing here, Everett?” Beast growls. The way it comes out it is almost animalistic and somewhat scares me. I’ve never heard him speak like that.

“I’m dropping my assistant off to get her car. What’s it look like I’m doing?” Everett chuckles, seeming to goad his brother.

“Speaking of my car, is it ready?” I ask, more than ready to get the hell out of there. “Jagger’s waiting on me.”

Both men look at me as I mention my cat’s name.

“Car’s ready,” Beast grunts, “was about to pull it out of the bay.”

“I’ll just get it myself and get out of here.” There’s no way I can stick around and listen to more of this.

Finding out my boss is Beast’s brother is enough.

I start past them and notice a few other members of the club are watching what’s going on out here. Sucking in a breath, I push myself forward and smile at Ghost. “Hey, Ghost, I’m just going to back my car out and head home. Let me know how much the bill is later, will you?”

“Yeah, babe, that’s fine. Let me know if you make it home okay.”

“I will.” Nodding, I get in behind the wheel of my crappy little car and head home, not worrying about anything else. I push thoughts of what I just learned to the back of my mind. I can’t think about this. Not now.

Maybe later when I have a glass of wine in hand and am snuggled up to my baby.

It’s honestly more than I want to think about even then, but I’m going to have to process it at some point if I’m going to be able to face my boss again. I knew I should have just taken an Uber to get my car, but he insisted on taking me himself. He claimed there was no reason for me to spend money on a ride when he was capable of dropping me off on his way home.
