I sit up and rest my hand on his chest. “You can’t keep sleeping like this. You’re going to be so sore.”

He gives me one of his rare, full smiles, looking ridiculously adorable for having his sleep completely fucked up.

“I told you this rocking chair is comfortable, and there was no way in hell I was going to move you off my lap. I love holding you while you sleep.”

I cup his face, running a thumb through his dark stubble as he leans into my touch. I wish I was capable of giving him more right now, but he doesn’t pressure me. He just kisses my palm and smiles at me when I get up to use the bathroom. I still need to shower, so I don’t bother changing out of my pajamas. I just brush my teeth and wait for Matvey to do the same before we leave the room together.

Matvey threads his fingers through mine, holding my hand as we join the others in the kitchen. They’re crowded around the island, and when we get closer, I see the laptop they’re staring at. The screen is filled with a black-and-white image of the parking garage, and as soon as Matvey sees it, he laughs.

“You didn’t,” he says to a smiling Vitaly.

“I did.” Vitaly pulls Katya closer and laughs again. “He should be here any minute.”

I lean closer to see the image better, but all I can see is Matvey’s Camaro, the black SUV that we drove in the other night, an Aston Martin, Lev’s motorcycle, and next to that is a blue minivan that must belong to one of the other tenants.

Looking over at Vitaly, I ask, “What did you do?”

He points to the minivan. “We bought that for Roman.”

I laugh and look back at the screen. “You bought my brother a minivan?”

Vitaly nods while Matvey asks, “What did you do with his Porsche?”

“We paid to park it in the garage down the street,” Vitaly says, still laughing.

Lev shakes his head. “He’s going to fucking kill you.”

“Maybe.” Vitaly shrugs his shoulders. “Or maybe he’ll drive it and fall in love.”

“Yeah, that’s what’s going to happen,” Danil says while Simona laughs and smiles at her husband.

“Emily’s going to kill you for stressing him out like this when he’s healing from a gunshot wound,” Jolene points out, but Vitaly just laughs again.

“It’s good for him. He needs to learn to relax. This will help him.”

“I’m not so sure about that,” I tell him.

“We’re about to find out.” Matvey points to the screen. “Here’s hoping the doc has him on some good painkillers and it takes him a few days to even notice the Porsche is gone.

I give a soft laugh as we gather around to watch the black SUV pull up to the private elevator. The driver gets out, walking around to open the back door for Roman and Emily. She gets out first, resting a hand on her stomach as Roman follows her. He wraps his uninjured arm around her and nods to the driver before he disappears back into the SUV and drives off. Instead of heading straight for the elevator, we watch Roman’s head turn to where his beautiful Porsche would usually be parked. Vitaly laughs as Roman looks around and then shakes his head before turning to look directly into the security camera. He raises his middle finger, making Vitaly laugh even harder, and then steps into the elevator with Emily.

“You might want to run and hide,” Lev tells him.

“He’s injured. I can outrun him.” He turns to me and smiles. “Ready to see how pissed your brother can get?”

“Oh, I know how pissed,” I tell him. “I’ve had a first-row seat to all the pranks you’ve pulled on him.”

Matvey laughs and pulls me against him, grabbing a sausage biscuit from the counter. He breaks off a piece and holds it to my lips right as the elevator dings. Roman and Emily step off, and his eyes immediately find Vitaly.

“Where the fuck is my Porsche?”

Vitaly cocks his head and furrows his brow in confusion. “Hmm?”

“You know what I’m talking about. Where’s my Porsche, and why is there a goddamn minivan in my parking spot?”

“Oh, you mean that super reliable and family-safe vehicle?” He gives a soft laugh. “You’re welcome.” He turns to Emily and adds, “The car salesman assured me it was the safest option for a young, growing family. Plus, he’s going to look sexy as hell driving it, don’t you think? Fucking kick-ass.”

Emily bites her lip to keep from laughing while Roman’s face turns an unhealthy red. He points a finger at Vitaly while Matvey discreetly feeds me another bite of biscuit.
