Josh’s teasing drawl brings me back to reality, and when I manage to open my eyes and lift my head, I find we’re still collapsed, naked on the couch. “Did I black out?” I ask with a laugh, my heart racing. “It kind of feels like I just blacked out.”

“Is that a good thing?” Josh carefully eases away from me, and gets up, padding across to the bathroom to dispose of the condom. I watch him go, blatantly admiring the sight of his naked ass, and that body that just basically ruined me for all other men.

“It’s… fine,” I say, echoing his earlier teasing. “Nice.”

Josh’s guffaw of laughter echoes from the bathroom. He emerges in a fluffy robe, and brings one over to me, too, as I gingerly sit up, and stretch.

“Sure. It seemed realnicewith your ankles up around your ears, begging me to go deeper,” Josh remarks with a smug grin.

I flush, but there’s no room for embarrassment, not when I feel so goddamnamazing.

I take the robe and stand—or, at least I try to stand, but my legs aren’t co-operating, still shaky from one, two, threeincredible orgasms. “You know you’re good,” I grin, curling up on the couch instead. “Now, order me a cheeseburger, and I’ll really lose my mind.”

“Demanding woman.” Josh chuckles, and calls up for us, ordering a spread of food while I finally make my way to the bathroom and clean up.

My reflection in the mirror makes me pause. My eyes are bright, my skin is glowing… Never mind a spa weekend, another few nights with Josh and I could pass for twenty-five again.

I emerge to find Josh raiding the minibar. “This is the height of luxury,” I say happily, throwing myself on the bed with a bounce.

“Twenty dollar mini-bottles of bourbon and Pringles?” he asks, handing me bottle of water.

“And three orgasms,” I say with a satisfied smirk.

He grins, leaning in to drop a kiss on my lips. “Just you wait. The night is young.”

“Promises, promises.”

“I’m the optimist, remember?” Josh winks.

“Well, we do have three more days of festivities…” I reply, reveling in the thought of it. I can take any wedding disaster they throw my way, if it means I get to come have my mind thoroughly blown with Josh at the end of the day.

“If they last that long.”

“What do you mean?” I ask, yawning. Now the after-glow is mellowing, I feel deliciously sleepy. Like I could curl up right here and doze off…

“You saw the way Avery melted down. Again.” Josh sits on the edge of the bed. “Now my uncle’s seeing a whole different side to her. Hopefully, he can do something now, before it’s too late.”

He gulps down some bottled water, and even though his robe has fallen open, and he looks like some kind of advertisement for good hydration and terry cloth, something is scratching in the back of my mind.

Something important.

I study him, wondering why my spidey-sense is tingling. I know Josh has his doubts about the marriage, but I figured he’d put them aside. After all, there’s nothing any of us could do to stop this thing…

Is there?

I gasp, struck with a sudden realization. “You smashed that tank on purpose!” I cry, sitting up so fast my head spins. “It wasn’t an accident, you hit the ball straight at it. YouwantedAvery to get covered in slime!”

Josh grins. “I plead the fifth,” he says, leaning in for another kiss.

I duck away. “It’s not funny! Avery was devastated.”

“Sure, because she didn’t get to post all her perfect photos to her adoring fans.” Josh rolls his eyes. “All she cares about is how a million strangers see her, not anything real. That’s why she's all wrong for my uncle.”

“So you’re trying to, what, sabotage the wedding?” I ask slowly.

“I’m trying to show him who she really is,” Josh corrects me. He gets comfortable on the bed, still munching on Pringles and looking so relaxed, it’s like we’re having an entirely different conversation.

“It’s not your business to get involved,” I scramble to my feet, my after-glow fading fast. “Just because you think you know better, doesn’t give you license to stick your nose in other people’s relationships.”
