“And you're mine.”

“Damn right,” Wolf said, then leaned over, kissing Demir.

The two, now with their hunger sated, simply enjoyed each other's company.

Chapter ten

Montgomery

Montgomery sat at thetable with his parents as they ate dinner in contempt of each other. Both of his parents were disappointed in him for not marrying their choices in order to hide the failings of the business. And he was pissed off at them for making all of the wrong decisions that got them into their unfortunate predicament. Also, his mother was angry at his father for dragging their name and business into the dirt. The tension between them was thick enough to cut with a chainsaw. Montgomery had wanted to avoid the dinner, but his mother had insisted he come because they had something important to discuss with him.

Monty ate half of his steak before he broke the silence. “You mentioned that we have an interested party that wants to buy our company?”

“I'm getting a lot of pressure from the shareholders to sell. Our stocks are down because now everyone knows that we're floundering. The one bid I have is just enough to break even. We'll still have to sell this mansion, and I'll just have to startover. We can salvage some of what we own,” said Monty's father, Howard.

Monty sighed and ate some of his vegetables. “When is this meeting?”

“In two days.”

“Sir,” said the voice of one of their maids.

All three members turn to see her standing in the doorway.

“What is it?” Howard asked.

“You—you have guests,” she said in a shaky voice that was full of fear.

Monty frowned because he couldn't understand why she was so afraid. “Who?” he asked, then wiped his mouth and hands with a cloth napkin.

Before she could explain, a tall Asian man entered with a beautiful Asian woman by his side. Following behind him were four men and two women—all Asian. Their presence put Monty and his family on alert. Monty rose, but the female standing near him pulled out her guns, aiming one at him and the other at his father. Monty froze, his eyes keenly focused on their uninvited guests.

“Please, have a seat,” said the older man who'd entered first. The air of arrogance surrounding him clearly indicated he was in charge.

Monty sat down but kept his gaze on them. His eyes widened when he noticed the boy from Scarlet Letter amongst them. What in the hell was going on?

“Sorry to interrupt your...” the man gestured to the meal at the table, “tasty dinner.”

Monty cocked his eyebrow. “Are you?”

The stranger chuckled softly and shook his head. “Not really.”

“Who are you and what do you want?” Howard asked them as he scooted his chair closer to his wife.

The man came over to the table, pulled out a chair, and took a seat. The beautiful woman who was at his side took the chair beside his.

“You have a lovely home,” she said with a slight Japanese accent.

“Not for long, from what I hear,” said one of the men who was still standing near the doorway. He looked to be young, in his twenties at least. Very handsome, but also all about business. He was wearing a suit jacket, pants, and black shirt combo, and one could tell that his body was very toned beneath the fabric. Monty noticed that he was also carrying two guns in his side holsters. For whatever reason, he didn't feel the need to draw his weapons. Maybe because the female who came with them already had her guns aimed at their targets. She had a look in her eyes that was as deadly as the weapons she toted. Her black hair was done up in an intricate braided design and the red dress with white lotus flowers on it, along with a sexy split, was tight enough to hug every line and curve of her body.

“Why are you here?” Monty repeated his father's question because he needed answers.

The man who looked to be Chinese smirked and held Howard's gaze. “I'm here to make you an offer for both your business and your son.”

“What do you mean?” Monty's mother, Margie, asked, her tone trembling as her blue eyes remained wide with terror. This kind of situation wasn't anything they were accustomed to.

“I'll get right to the point,” the man said. “My name is Da Han Mujin. This is my wife, Mèng Yáo.” He gestured to the woman at his side wearing a traditional Japanese red dress with a golden dragon design embroidered on it. Her plump lips were as red as the dress and her smile didn't reach her eyes. Da Han was wearing an expensive three-piece black suit, just like the man who stood behind his chair. “To my left here is my Vanguard,Chen,” Da Han said, introducing the man behind him who was very stunning as well. His gaze was sharp and scrutinizing as he peered at them. Da Han went on. “To my right back there is my oldest son, Li, my daughter Xiù, and my youngest, whom your son is already acquainted with, Ren.”

Monty looked at the trio of the man's children. They all had smooth, angular features that Monty found alluring. They were a very good-looking group and appeared to be dressed rather formally for this menacing occasion. The boys had short, styled hair that was flattering to their features. Mèng Yáo had long hair that she had tied up in a bun and Monty could see her stroking her husband's thigh underneath the table. The action proved to Monty that they felt like they had the upper hand. Still, he didn't take kindly to being threatened. His gaze fell on Ren and he wanted to strangle the pretty little twink for the trouble he'd caused. And he wondered just what demands would be put on him since he was expecting to receive some kind of offer.
