“And what do you want with us?” Howard asked, his steel gray eyes never leaving Da Han's. Hearing his father's voice drew Monty's attention from Ren to Da Han.

“As I've said, I want to make you an offer. It will be quite a sweet deal. Sure, I could probably buy you out for even less than what anyone else is offering you. I mean...” Da Han paused and held his hands out. “How many of your business dealings could end with your brains splattered all over your wife's pretty face and fashionable clothes if we don't come to an agreement?”

Howard swallowed hard, his jaw tightened as his wife gasped, her hand going to her mouth. Monty remained motionless as he observed the meeting. His gaze panned over to Ren, who was staring back at him, smiling. He narrowed his eyes as he glared at the young brat with suspicion. When Da Han began to speak, he returned his gaze to the man who'd just threatened to kill them all if he didn't get what he wanted.

“And what are you offering?” Howard asked. He placed both hands on the table, keeping his back straight and his gaze stern. He was terrified. His heart beat furiously, so much so, he could almost hear the pounding in his ears, but didn't want to look the way he felt. Never show your opponent your hand was something he'd drilled into his son. He was living by that example.

Da Han crossed one leg over the other. “I will buy your shares in your company—for more than they are worth—thus paying off your debt. However, you will no longer be the Chairman. No... you can't be trusted, not after your poor decision-making that put you into this unfortunate predicament. Purchasing your shares is an investment on my part. I want to see the company thrive. My son, Li, will be taking over as the owner.”

Monty and Howard looked past Da Han to see Li standing there mimicking the same level of arrogance that his father exuded.

“Do you think the other shareholders and my board of directors will accept that?” Howard asked Da Han.

“They can either sell their shares or accept it. After buying out your shares, I will have majority control. Does it look like I care what they think?” Da Han cocked an eyebrow.

“If I sell to you—”

“If?” Da Han asked, cutting Howard off.

Howard swallowed and nodded in his steadfast manner. “If.”

Da Han shook his head. “You are on the verge of losing everything, Mr. William-Price. I know of all your dirty little secrets. I even know you were desperately looking for someone to marry your son in order to attach yourself to that family's wealth like some fucking parasite.”

Howard snarled. “You son of a—”

“Watch yourself, Howard. You don't want to finish that insult,” Da Han warned.

Again, Howard had to bite his tongue. His muscles tensed as he forced himself to remain calm. “What do you want with my company?” he asked.

Da Han smacked his lips. “The answer is simple. Your company will work as a beautiful front for the type of business that I do. It's legit. Your son, Montgomery, will be running it on the surface as CEO, but behind him will be my son.”

“Pulling my strings?” Monty asked.

Da Han turned to him and smiled. “Exactly.”

“Is that the only thing you want from our son?” Margie asked as her eyes flickered from Monty to Da Han.

“Not the only thing. As it turns out, my son wants yours. So, Montgomery will marry Ren tonight. Hence our formal wear.” He paused to gesture to his impeccably stylish suit. “We have all of the legal paperwork ready.”

“The hell I will!” Monty snapped.

Da Han held a finger up. “Mind your outbursts. My tolerance only goes so far.” When he said that, Da Han's daughter, Xiù, cocked her gun that was already aimed at Monty.

“Please, no!” Margie begged, her hands reaching out to Da Han, then shrinking back as if afraid to touch the man.

“What if I refuse to sell to you?” Howard dared to ask.

“As I've said, I'm only willing to extend this deal because my son wants yours. I will get your company one way or another. If you choose to do this the hard way, I'll start cutting parts off your wife until you decide to sell me your company at my counter-offer price, which will be significantly less than what I'm offering now,” Da Han said. “And I won't be paying off your debts. You'll have to sell this lovely home and all of your possessions to pay off the results of your stupidity. My suggestion to you would be to think wisely about this deal.”

“She has lovely skin,” Mèng Yáo said as she pulled a wicked-looking knife from her purse. The blade was sharp and smoothon one side and jagged with serrated edges on the other. She ran the tip along her bottom lip as she stared at Margie, who whimpered.

“Oh my god, Howard,” Margie cringed back in fear and clung even harder to her husband.

Montgomery started to rise, but Li pulled out his gun, pointing it at him. Monty stared at two guns now aimed at him and he sighed, then sat back down.

“Keep being that smart,” Li told him.

Da Han continued. “Mr. William-Price, I'll leave you shattered and with nothing if you choose to test me. This offer is simply a courtesy because I'm hoping your son becomes a long-term member of my family. You'll have until I'm done speaking with your son to make your decision.” He turned to Monty. “The offer I'm going to give you is separate from your parents. You'll marry my son tonight, that is not up for negotiation. You will cherish and respect him. There will be no infidelity on your part, no abuse...” he paused then looked over his shoulder at his grinning son, then back to Monty. “Other than what you two agree to. I understand that my son has desires and needs only a man like you can fulfill. But make no mistake, I will not allow anyone to hurt my children. You can continue to have the life you're accustomed to—albeit an even better one—or cease to exist at all because I don't take well to rejection.”
