“I'm good,” Bruiser protested.

“No, you're not, Bruiser,” Wolf said. “You got your fucking bell rung in that damn place. That little bastard can fight.”

“Fuck yeah, he could,” Bruiser agreed with a choking laugh. He leaned over, spitting phlegm and blood onto the sidewalk. “I think you're right. I'm banged up pretty good and my head hurts like hell.”

“Take him to Demir's car. Try not to bleed all over that fucking thing,” Wolf said. “I'll send Doc your way when he gets off his shift.”

Bruiser laughed and nodded. “Sure thing,” he said as Snoopy and Goat helped him toward the expensive Maserati. Demir opened the car using his remote key fob and then looked at Wolf. “I'll take Bruiser home, then head back to my house.”

“Awww, you're not coming back to my home?” Wolf asked with a sexy pout.

“I'm exhausted… I don’t know, but it just hit me. After I take Bruiser home, I'm going to be ready to hit the bed,” Demir said.

Wolf scratched his eyebrow and nodded. “Yeah, I feel you. I'm tired as fuck too. All of the adrenaline I had coming here is gone now. See you later?”

“Of course,” Demir said, then he stood up on his toes as Wolf leaned down and kissed his man. “We have unfinished business, you and I,” he said once their kiss ended.

“Damn right, baby. I love you,” Wolf said with a big grin. It felt so good to say the words now. He knew what he was feeling was powerful and real.

“I love you too,” Demir said and kissed him once more, then turned. Wolf slapped his ass before he could walk off. He smiled at his man, then continued to his car, climbing in. He looked at Bruiser, who was holding a handkerchief to his bleeding forehead. “Let's get you home.”

“I got some good moves in on his ass, didn't I?” Bruiser asked.

Demir chuckled. “Some, yes. It wasn't a total ass whooping.”

Bruiser snorted. “Fuck you, Demir.”

Demir laughed and pulled off.

Chapter seventeen

Da Han

Da Han looked downat his phone when he heard the chime of a new message. He read it from Tian Yu, letting him know that the issue had been resolved. The text also said that Tian Yu and Yufei were heading to his home. It was either late as hell or early as fuck depending on how you wanted to look at it. Da Han was exhausted and just wanted to go to sleep, but he needed to speak to his youngest brother before he could go to bed or he'd never be able to get any rest. His wife and son, Yìchén, were asleep. Only Chen was still awake with him and waiting on word from Tian Yu about the situation.

“Was that from your brother?” Chen asked.

Da Han slipped his cell back into his pocket and nodded. “They're on their way here. Tian was able to handle it.” He let his head fall back on the sofa as he released a sigh of relief.

Chen nodded. “Good.” He looked at his boss. “Why don't you text them and tell them to come in the morning, sir? It's late.”

“I need to press upon Yufei how much I don't want him fucking up my plans. Knowing him, he could undo everythingTian did while I'm asleep, thinking everything was okay,” Da Han said.

“Very well, sir,” Chen said. He continued to read reports on his phone from members abroad.

Da Han thought about everything that had happened in the last twenty-four hours. He now owned an international shipping company with his son in control and his son-in-law starting as CEO soon. He allowed Howard William-Price to bow out with dignity and make a smooth transfer of power in the contract he had the man sign. He thought about Ren and wondered how his night was going. He had received a text from Sakura letting him know about the attitude Montgomery had displayed with his son. But according to the text, it was what Ren wanted. Da Han didn't try to pretend like he understood his son's needs. He did wonder if Ren fully understood what he was signing up for with a man like Montgomery William-Price. In any case, he'd keep a close eye on the couple.

Twenty minutes passed before he looked up to see both of his brothers walking into the living room where he'd been waiting for them. His rage spiked and he rose from the sofa and stalked toward Yufei and punched him hard across the jaw, sending him to the floor. Da Han didn't give him a chance to recover before he was on him again, punching his brother several more times until both Tian and Chen pulled him off as he cursed in Mandarin.

“You idiot!” Da Han yelled.

“I just did what you are too scared to do!” Yufei snapped as he climbed to his feet, dabbing the blood dripping from his busted lip and nose.

Da Han snatched himself away from the men restraining him and they allowed it. He adjusted his clothing as he glared at his brother. “I fear no one!”

Yufei scoffed, his brow furrowing as he grimaced. “Tian and I were running Chicago just fine until you got here.”

“You almost started a war we're not ready to fight, Yufei. Do you think your fucking biker gang can take on the entire Lords of Chaos? You fucking fool!”
