“We could,” Yufei shot back. “I've been recruiting members too. We're thirty strong.”
Da Han scoffed and shook his head. “Is that so? And how many of those members have your fighting skill?”
Yufei held his chin up in defiance. “They can fight.”
“Can they kill?” Da Han asked. “Because we need killers.”
“They're loyal—”
“Oh, for fuck's sake,” Da Han said, throwing his hands in the air in his frustration.
“Their loyalty hasn't been properly tested, Yufei,” Tian Yu said.
“Look, they're loyal. They'll do whatever needs to be done,” Yufei insisted.
Tian Yu tossed his brother his handkerchief so he could wipe the fresh blood away. “We still don't know that, little brother. You may have that sense of loyalty with them, they're members of your gang, but the triad hasn't tested these new members.”
Yufei huffed, his hands going to his hips. “So what? You want me to see if they're willing to kill people in cold blood?”
“When we find those rat bastards who betrayed us, then I'll see what they're made of. Until then, you leave the fucking Lords alone, do you understand me?” Da Han stared at his brother, awaiting his reply.
Yufei frowned, but nodded. “I understand.”
“Good,” Da Han snapped.
“There's something you need to know,” Tian told Da Han.
He turned to his brother. “What?”
“Vito's right-hand man was with them. Demir Balik,” Tian said.
“Fuck,” Da Han hissed. “Did he do or say anything?”
Tian shook his head. “No, but I could tell he was checking us out.”
“He's prospecting, from what I heard,” Yufei said.
Da Han frowned. “Interesting. So, the president and Demir aren't just lovers. What an entanglement.”
“One we can use to our advantage,” Tian Yu suggested.
Da Han nodded. “I agree. So, what are your thoughts about him?”
“He's lethal,” Tian said.
“How lethal?”
“If matters had escalated, he could have killed a great number of our men.”
“Which of our people can take him on, then?”
“Your daughter is the only one I know that has his same vibe. Sakura and Stephen are highly skilled, but not on his level.”
“Aoshi Saitoh. If we have to, we'll have to reach out to Mr. Saotome and ask for his services,” Chen said.
Da Han sighed. “Aoshi is sadistic.”
“But he's a killer unlike any other,” Chen stated.
