Hang on a sec …“You’veneverhad more than one orgasm with guys other than Wes too?”

“Wes was my first”—she took a deep breath—“and only lover.”

My eyebrows rose.

“I just need to know if something’s wrong with me because … I know Wes was capable of doing it more than once because… because …shit. On the day I caught them, first I heard them like they were both close to coming. Lots of ‘oh Gods’ and ‘yes, yes’ sort of thing.” She shuddered. “Then, I noticed the used condom on a pile of tissues on the floor as I walked through the door to then find him … and her …climaxing. They came together as I stood there, wanting to stab my eyes out with a fork! She got multiples, and I never did!”

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw other speed-dating couples staring at us. “Ignore them.” I waved a hand, catching her attention. “This Wes guy is a total douchebag.”

“Thanks. He was. Still is. At least I know I’m not into watching others do it.” She laughed without humour as she picked up her wineglass and sipped nothing but air. “Well, fuck.”

Her glass landed on the table with another loudthunk.

“I just want to know what it’s like with another guy. I want one night of rebound sex so I can move on and make my way in the world. I just … yeah.”

Her eyes slowly blinked as they roamed around the room. Far out, was she sizing up the other candidates for sex? Who knew which of the guys were utter creeps and who was decent?

She deserved better than what Wes had done to her. No woman deserved what Wes had done to Ari.

My jaw ticked. “Okay.”

Where the hell had that come from?

“Okay, what?” she asked, slowly blinking again.

“Okay, I’ll do it.” I tipped my chin. “Sleep with you. Tonight.”Holy shit.

Ari slowly blinked again, biting her lip as she grabbed her clutch. “You mean it? You’re going to sleep with me?”

“That’s right.” I stood, leant over the table and held her gaze. “After I’m done with you, you won’t have any memories of your ex in bed.”

Ari stood up, giggling, a little unsteady on her feet.

“Let’s go have orgasms!” she exclaimed, punching the air.

What the fuck have I got myself into?

Surf or turf: Do you prefer the mountains or the beach for a weekend getaway?

Isat up and instantly regretted my first decision for the day. My head was pounding, and I couldn’t quite figure out which way was up or down.

I’d drank too much—again—on an empty stomach. At five foot four, I was a lightweight with alcohol, and I’d been an idiot last night to drink without food.

Somehow, I’d made it to my temporary home, walking three streets to my Kombi van parked in Ash’s backyard, and fell asleep here.

Hazy memories formed: someone carrying me, me singing AC/DC’s ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’badly,my mother giggling in the background, yelling at my make-up kits and brush sets about how I hated being a make-up artist, throwing clothes around the van.

I inhaled a steadying breath. Three things occurred to me at once: One, I’d not paid for my tab. Two, the tee shirt I was wearing wasnotmine.

And three, despite asking that guy with the really nice arms for a night of sex, I didnotfeel like I’d had sex all night.

I sniffed the tee shirt I was wearing, and oh my God, whoever owned this, they smelled good.

And then I groaned. A tornado had ripped through my clothing, leaving my shirts and underwear on every surface and handle. A tornado called Drunk Ari.
