“So soon?”

“Yeah. We have a large group due in the cabins late tomorrow. The guys have to get back or it’ll leave the ranch short staffed.”

“Well, it was very nice to finally meet you.” I smile at her.

“You as well. Hopefully all of you can come down to Montana soon for one of the family gatherings.”

“I’m not sure if I’ll still be here then.” I answer honestly.

She looks at me shrewdly before smiling once again and pulling me in for a hug.

Pulling back out of the hug, she looks me straight in the eye, “You’re part of this family now too ya know. You need anything, we are only a phone call away.”

Not sure of what to say, I shake my head at her and she walks away. I watch as they all say their goodbyes with Arin crying as they leave.

Turning towards the tables, I start gathering up all the trash and putting it in the can. Working silently, I’m surprised to see another set of hands grabbing plates across the table from me.

Looking up, Jake is looking back at me and I once again feel that shiver down my spine. Giving him a slight smile, I look away as we continue cleaning up the mess left behind mostly from the other business owners.

The MC was very considerate in making sure all their trash went straight to the can once they were finished with everything.

Arin and Mika start washing all the cookware we bring back inside to the kitchen.

They both look at me with a little grin each time I take a load back in and I wonder briefly what they are grinning about but decide to just ignore them.

It’s most likely something I don’t even want to know about. Those two seem to have no filter. Ever. About anything.

Finished with all the cleanup, Jake and I grab the trash bags and head for the dumpster in the alley, throwing them inside.

“Thanks for helping. You didn’t have to do that.” I say to Jake as we walk back towards the house.

“I don’t mind. Can I ask you something?” We pause while walking and I look back at him expectantly.

“Sure.”

“Will you go to dinner with me? Tomorrow night?” He says in a rush.

I stare back at him for several long seconds at a loss for words. I knew he’d been staring at me all afternoon but I convinced myself that it was my imagination.

“No.” The word rushes out of my mouth before I even have time to think about it. Besides, that’s what I want. Right?

“Oh.” His brows draw together as if he didn’t expect to be turned down.

He probably didn’t. I’ve seen how all the women in his class ogle him during their workouts. Most are probably there just hoping to catch the sexy man’s eye.

He seems to collect himself and his amazing grin is back on his face as though he knows something that you don’t.

“Okay. Well, I’ll see you in class next week then.” His eyes sparkle.

“Yep.” I pop the “p” and spin on my heel, walking back to Arin’s house.

I know he’s watching me walk away, I can feel it just as much as I felt him watching me all day. Another shiver runs down my spine and my nipples tingle from hardening under my shirt.

Fuck!
