I’ve stayed close tothe other girls through the entire cookout. At first some of the men from the MC that came up from Montana seemed a bit intimidating but they all put me at ease pretty quickly.

I found myself truly entertained by their jokes and teasing of each other like a bunch of little boys in men’s clothing.

Meeting Fiona, I finally understand why Arin and Lily see all these people as their family.

They all get along as a family should. They know each other's secrets and fears.

While they’ll pick on each other, I can tell they would never allow an outsider to do so.

Even though I consider myself an outsider, they didn’t treat me as one. They’ve welcomed me in as though I was there all along. It almost makes me wish that I could always stay.

Maybe put down some new roots. Have a family of my own and perhaps even get married one day.

My eyes look out towards the shade tree where Jake has been ever since he arrived several hours ago with some of the other men.

I’ve seen him watching me all afternoon like a hawk that’s found its prey. Even though I’m determined to not get involved with anyone, his eyes on me still cause a reaction in my body.

I’m more than glad I wore dark clothes today in case my wetness has decided to leak through my jeans.

This is the reason I started asking myself why I can’t just have a fling? Men like that sort of thing right? No attachments. Just hot, bouncing off-the-walls sex until we both have our fill.

Then we both can just walk away. I’m not certain I could do it though and keep my heart to myself. I’ve never been that type.

No. It’s best if we stay as we are. I can however continue to fantasize about his chiseled, sexy ass while using my battery-operated toy in the shower.

Last night’s fantasy still plays over and over in my head. By the time I orgasmed, I was a puddled mess in the bottom of my shower until the water turned cold.

A shiver runs through me and I close my eyes.

“What in the world are you thinking so hard about? Or should I ask who?”

My head snaps up at Fiona, not realizing that she had walked up to my right side.

Clearing my throat, I say, “No one.”

“Right.” She chuckles. “I just came to find you and say goodbye. We are all headed out now.”
