These guys aren’t as bad as their reputation. They are more like a family than a club.

Mac greets me when I pull up a stool at the bar. “Long time no see.”

“Been busy Mac.”

“Oh yeah? Heard it’s a woman been keeping ya busy.”

“She does keep me on my toes.” I wink at him.

“What’ll you have?”

“How about I start with a shot of Jamison and a bud. I’m just killing time until Poison Pen closes.”

“That’s right, Eagle told us your girl works with Little Sister. You going to bring her over to meet the guys?” he asks while pouring two shots.

“You going to put something on under your kilt?” I respond back.

“Why? You scared she might see something she likes?” He laughs, pushing one of the shots in front of me and taking the second for himself.

“No man. I’m scared your naked mole rat is gonna send her running back to the lower 48.”

“Hey Mac! You going to keep standing there looking pretty in your skirt or are you gonna serve some customers?” A voice calls out from the other end of the bar.

“It’s not a skirt! It’s a kilt and I was thinking about your mother.” he answers

“What about my mother?” The voice calls back.

“She passed out after peeking under my kilt. I had to give her cock-to-mouth resuscitation.” He answers with a wink.

Everyone in the bar breaks out laughing as Mac pours my beer before moving on to serve the other patrons.

If that comment had come from anyone else it would have started a bar fight but nobody messes with Mac.

The man works out like a beast. Besides, they expect him to say dumb shit.

I’m still laughing when someone slides onto the stool next to me.

Glancing over to see if it’s anyone I know, I don’t recognize the guy.

When he sees me looking he holds his hand out to shake, “The names Link.”

“Hi Link, I’m Jake.”

“What’s good here?”

“Depends on what you’re looking for.”

“I’m getting a tattoo in an hour. Looking for some liquid courage.”

That gets my attention and I turn to look at him better.

“Where are you getting it done?”

“A place called Poison Pen. Heard they are the best in town.”

“They are,” I assure him. “My girl works there. Don’t walk in smelling like liquor or They won't give you a tat. Arin’s real strict about not working on anyone that’s been drinking.” I warn.

“Thanks man.”
