“Not all of us are cut out to be Yotes for the rest of our lives. Like, Sally, I don’t think she’ll ever leave this place.”

Sally has been with the club for as long as I can remember although if I think about it, there’s only one brother that gets her attention these days. Her and Dane have been pretty much a couple almost since he was patched into the club.

Although he’s never laid a claim to her, the rest of us avoid her because of the connection between the two. I’m honestly surprised he’s not made her an ole lady.

“Well, if I don’t see you again before you leave, I hope you get everything in life that you deserve.” I finally say.

“Thank you, Snake. And I hope whoever Andi is, realizes what a great guy you are. See you.” She smiles, closing my door behind her.

Walking to my bathroom, I turn on the shower and hop in letting the hot water cascade down my back and relieve the tension that’s still in my shoulders.

Chapter 3

Andi

Iwake with a startas my bed shakes and I feel the girls bouncing on it. My head throbs at the temples with each movement.

“Girls, Please! Let me rest!” I say as loudly as I can.

“But Mom, you’ve been asleep forever already! I’m hungry!” Skylar whines.

“Fix some oatmeal. You both love oatmeal.” I mumble, flatting my face into my pillow.

“There isn’t any more oatmeal.” Samantha says quietly and I raise up to see she’s standing next to the bed.

“Cereal. Eat some cereal.” I answer.

“For supper? Seriously?” Skylar asks with excitement. If my head wasn’t already throbbing, I’d roll my eyes at her use of the word seriously. Here lately, she seems to use it for everything.

“Seriously. Now let me sleep.” I roll over, pulling the blanket up over my head.

“Okay, Mom. We’ll check on you before bed.” Samantha says before I hear both their feet leaving my bedroom.

I know that I need to get up, that this is not healthy. Not for me or the girls but I feel so tired. Maybe if I can sleep just one more day, I’ll feel better. Briefly, I think about finding the pills the doctor gave to me but I’m sure I don’t need them. This is just temporary. I’ll get up and be the best Mom tomorrow.
