“I don’t think you’re supposed to say pissed.” I look at her and we both grin at each other.
“No one is around to hear it.” She shrugs as she starts to dial the number.
“Do you really think he’s our Uncle?” I ask before she presses send.
“No. But there’s something about him that seems familiar. You know what I mean?” She asks.
“Yeah. I do.” I shake my head at her because I know exactly what she’s talking about. This tiny feeling that I just can’t catch is trying to tell me something.
“Hurry up. I’m starving.” I bring our attention back to the phone.
“You’re always starving.” She rolls her eyes as the phone starts to ring.
Chapter 5
Snake
Getting a call fromthe girls so soon after giving them my number for emergencies has me frightened of what I’ll find when I get to Andi’s place. It’s not like her to not make sure those kids are well cared for.
The times I spoke with Hank over the years, he spoke of how protective she was and how much she loved those girls so she had to be extremely sick to not have gotten up to at least buy groceries for them.
Before jumping on my bike, I make a split second decision to give Mina and Bella a call.
They both agree that something must be wrong and I’m sure they have all kinds of questions as to why I would know so much about Andi.
Other than the Prez, I’ve told no one as to who they are to me. The Prez, however, may have shared the information with Mina. Those two don’t keep secrets from each other.
Come to think of it, Prez didn’t seem all that surprised when I informed him that she was Hank’s widow and someone I knew before the club.
I do all of the club's background checks so I know he didn’t find out that way. Putting it to the back of my mind to ask him about it later, I hop on my bike and go as fast as I can down the road.
As I pull up in front of the cabin, the girls both come to the door with a grin but seeing me empty handed, they frown at me.
“Where’s the food? I’m starving!” Sky moans from the doorway.
“You’re always starving!” Sam rolls her eyes and I can’t stop myself from smiling at their banter.
