The room starts to spin and I get the overpowering urge to vomit so I run to the bathroom, barely making it to the toilet in time.

I hear one of the girls answering the phone and talking to whoever it is. Hopefully it’s nothing important because I swear I hear Skylar tell them I’m busy throwing up.

Once I feel like all the contents of my stomach have been expelled, I go over to the sink to wash my mouth out.

I hope I’m not coming down with anything. Last time one of us got sick, everyone got sick and it’s not fun cleaning up not only your own puke but your child’s too at the same time.

It could be the stomach bug. Mina was just saying the other day that it was something going around right now and she was glad the kids are currently out of school.

Reaching up into the cabinet to find something to settle my stomach, I notice the brand new box of tampons that I’ve not yet used and my hand stops in mid air.

I bought that box before we moved in here and I should have already had at least one cycle. The thought causes my heart to start racing and my breathing to escalate.

I’m just about to go into panic mode when I hear the front door open and Gabe yell my name.

“In here.” I answer, closing the cabinet door quickly.

“Hey! I came as fast as I could. Skylar said you were throwing up. You okay?” He asks, scanning my face.

“Yeah. I’m fine. I probably ate something last night that didn’t agree with my stomach.” I try to act as normal as possible.

“I don’t know. You look extremely pale. Maybe we should take you to the doctor just to be sure.” The worry in his eyes as well as his voice put butterflies in my stomach.

“I’m fine. Really. I promise to go to the doctor if anything gets worse.” I try to calm him. Hell, I’m trying to calm myself.

He follows me back into my bedroom and sits on the bed as I find something to wear for the day.

I was planning on weeding the flower bed out front and maybe go get some new flowers to put out there. Some roses would be nice if I could find some for this area.

“Where’s the closest garden center?” I ask from the closet.

“In Bozeman. Why?”

“I want to fix up the flower beds out front and maybe make a few more around the yard. Mina said that I could.” I answer, poking my head out of the closet.

“Well, if you decide to go, Get Mina or one of the other ladies to go with you. I’ve got to go out of town for a bit and I don’t want to be constantly worried about you.”

Pulling pants on as well as a shirt, I step back into the bedroom. “Where are you going?”

“Several of us have to take care of some club business. We shouldn’t be gone too long. A week or two.”

“Two weeks?” I gasp. Holding in all the questions I’d like to ask, I smile at him. “Okay. It’s like a business trip. A two week business trip.” I roll my eyes and he laughs.

“I promise these kinds of things don’t happen often.” He grabs me around the waist, pulling me into his lap. “When I get back, we’ll do something special.” He murmurs, kissing my neck and sending chills down my spine.

Mentioning something special reminds me that I have something really important to talk to him about. Something that I pray doesn’t push him away. And, oh fuck, I really do hope I have a stomach bug this time.

“When do you leave?” I ask, turning to straddle him.

“As soon as I get back.” He says, moving my hips to grind me against him.

It feels so good, I’m thinking of all the ways to have a quickie before he can leave when I hear the front door slam once again, reminding me of the girls running around outside who could come in here at any moment.

“I guess this will have to wait then.” I whisper, cupping his hardness through his jeans.

“Fuck!” He groans and I get up from his lap.

“Something to look forward to then?” I say as I walk out of the bedroom and I hear him growl.
