My brother crosses his huge arms over his chest and leans against the door while I go into the bathroom to get dressed. After a few minutes, I come back out and pull my boots on, grabbing my keys next to the door.

“Let’s go.”

“About time. You’re as slow as a damn woman.” He huffs and I just shake my head at him.

Shutting my door behind me, we head out of the clubhouse towards our bikes.

“Why haven’t you moved into your cabin already instead of staying at the club?” Bear asks as we put on our helmets.

“I don’t know. Lonely out there, I guess.” I shrug.

Taking that as my answer, we start our bikes and head down the road.

Thinking about my answer to his question, it was the truth. It’s too quiet out there for me after all the years being at the clubhouse. Besides, it’s easier to stay in my room at the club after fucking one of the club girls than it is to go home.

While I do consider the cabin as home, I’ve never actually lived there. I’ve stayed the night out there a time or two but I always come back to my room inside the clubhouse. Maybe one day, I'll have a family and we’ll live out there all the time.

The thought of family brings my best friend's face to the front of my mind and a pain in my chest forms from the thought of him. Hank and I’ve talked a few times on the phone over the last eleven years but I’ve not gone to see him since his wedding.

I fucked up pretty bad that night and have lived with regrets ever since. I’m afraid that if he were to ever see me, he’d know what I did and never forgive me. Him and Andi were made for each other. I don’t want to ever be what comes between them.

I briefly think about calling him later just to check in. Our last conversation plays over in my head as Bear and I ride towards Bozeman.

Most of our conversation was about his twin daughters and the shenanigan’s they were always getting into. They had just gotten in trouble at school that day and he had to go meet with the teacher because they had been fighting with another student.

I laughed when he told me they had broken the other kid's nose after he had pushed the younger twin down in the mud. I think I offended him when I had said they definitely weren’t like him in school. He’d let others push him around until I had come along.

I can’t remember how many fights I was in because some asshole had been picking on him. He’d laughed but there was something different in his voice. Before I could ask him about it, he had to go as one of his clients was calling him.

Maybe I should call him when I get in this evening. It’s been at least a year since that last phone call and lately I’ve missed the connection we had. We were as close as brothers. We knew everything about each other.

He’s never, not once, asked me why I pretty much removed myself from his life twelve years ago. One day, maybe I can find the strength to forgive myself and let go of the past.

For now, it’s best that I stay away from him and the woman that still haunts my dreams.

When we got back fromBozeman, the entire clubhouse was full of activity as everyone was getting things ready for Sara’s birthday party.

I make a beeline for my office where all of the computers are setup hoping I can avoid having to be in the middle of all the madness but I hear my name before I can get the door open.

“Snake! Can you keep an eye on the prospects setting up the tables? I’m being sent to pick up the kids from school.” Torque rolls his eyes and I grin.

“Sounds like you got a shitty deal.” I say as I walk in his direction.

“I volunteered!” He says surprising me.

“Why would you do that?”

“I’d much rather take my chances with all the hellions of the club than all the women out back! Good luck!” He laughs, walking out the door.

I head through the kitchen and out the back door. Seeing most of the club women as they pretty much order everyone around, I’m beginning to understand why Torque volunteered to get the kids.

These women can be hard to handle even on a good day. Throw in the fact they’ve been planning this party for months, they want it perfect.

They most likely have turned into the little beasts we all know them to be deep down.

Heading outside towards the shed, I hear a crash just before I hear Fiona, Blood’s sister, yell every expletive known to man and I run to the shed.
