Not now.

Not my stupid heats.

Not right in the middle of the living room—with two alphas who weren't my mates.

This wasn’t like anything I’d gone through before. Usually I would ride them out in the huge fridge in the basement, praying no one would find me. Aunty Lauren was always so disappointed if she found out. Because my stupid fucking messed up omega heats weren’t like they should be—they were short, sharp, and didn’t come in cycles. Instead, they came when I was hormonal, when my omega side was riled up, or when I was too…Fuck.I could cry as I shook against Umbra.

My stupid heats came if I got too turned on.

It had only happened once fromthatalone—after I’d spotted my mates for the first time. And now, I’d betrayed them.

My nails dug into Umbra’s back as I dragged him closer, a low whine rising in my throat.

“Damn…” Umbra’s voice was rough, a low purr rising in his chest.

I reacted instantly to the sound, uncoiling like a snake, fingers grappling for his cheeks.

He was so beautiful, tanned skin, scattering of freckles, and sweep of sandy blond hair… and shit… I’d never noticed exactlyhowhot his angled jaw was—or the thick muscles coiling down his neck and chest.

His eyes were fogged of lust, but he was holding me back just a fraction, brow creased in a frown. A growl shuddered through my body, panic tilting the world like a dizzy spell.

We were locked together.

Why was he looking at me like that?

All of this, taking me from them, stealing all my firsts, and now they didn’t want me…?

“Calm down.” Umbra straightened where he sat, peering at me strangely, his hand at my waist. “Dusk…!”

“I know.”I could hear Dusk in the kitchen, rummaging in the drawers.

When had he left? He’d been on the couch.

Another sharp breath felt tighter in my lungs and my eyes stung.

Why had he left?

I scrambled past the thickets of lust and panic trying to drag me down, surfacing for a moment.

“No…” I breathed.

This was wrong.

My mates would find out if I had a heat with Umbra and Dusk. That was a first they might never accept. This was too soon, moving too fast?—

“Shatter.”Dusk’s voice ripped me from the spiral, his grip on my chin. “Look at me.”

The low command in his voice didn’t help. Yellow eyes pierced mine, pupils blown, and dark opium was doused in need, close to wiping away all thoughts.

Good.

He wanted me.

I could breathe only because Umbra was knotting me already. A purr battled with an unsettled growl, coming out as a rattle, fractured and confused.

“…don’t want a heat with us right now, you don’t have to.”

What?
