Mack yells in excitement, jumping up and high-fiving him while we all stare at each other in confusion.

“What?” Trevor asks as he heads back to his seat.

“How the fuck did that translate into a turkey sandwich?” Addison asks Mack with her mouth hanging open.

Mack sighs as he plops back down next to me again. “You’re just jealous your team’s losing.”

I cock an eyebrow, turning to face him. “No, we all want to know the answer to that,” I add since I’m on their team and just as confused.

Him and Trevor both look at each other, but neither one of them explains. “It’s a you had to be there kind of thing,” Mack says with a shrug.

I roll my eyes. “And you said charades was dumb.”

“Me?” he asks, faking offense. “You’re the one who was mocking me even though you decided to crash mylameparty.”

I lean back with a smirk, taking another sip of my beer. “Itwouldhave been lame if I didn’t show up. You really need to work on your hosting skills, or I don’t know. Maybe if you could actually manage to get a girlfriend, then…you know.”

“You know,” he repeats back to me, getting right up in my space with a huge grin on his face. God, he’s cute when he’s tipsy. “Just because I lack the talent to get a lady friend, does not mean I am not a fucking excellent host, so you can take that back.”

“I’m not taking it back,” I sass back like I always do.

His head falls down on my shoulder. “My friends aren’t as stuck up as yours. They’re good with pizza and beer.”

“Yourfriendsare all jackasses though, so it doesn’t count.” My hand naturally falls onto his leg next to me. “And I’m saying that with full confidence knowing that one of those friends is my brother, one of them is your brother, and one of them is… well, you know, Derek.”

“I’m not going to argue that last one,” he says, looking up at me with a cute, drunk smile.

“What about Derek?” Derek asks, shoving a piece of pizza in his mouth as he walks past the back of the couch, overhearing the tailend of our conversation.

I lean back into the couch, smiling up at him. “Oh, you know. I was just telling Mack about all the ways I’m going to convince you to take me home with you tonight,” I tease.

His eyebrows shoot straight up before his eyes fall down my legs. He whips his head toward Trevor a moment later in pure terror.

“Sit down,” Trevor says.

“Yup,” Derek says, scurrying away from me like I’m poisonous.

“Oh shit, we won!” Trevor says suddenly, adding up the total score.

Addison jumps up. “I call dibs first on Mario Kart!”

“You want a refill?” Mack asks as everyone else grabs controllers.

“Sure,” I say, following him into the kitchen.

Mack grabs one of my cookies and takes a bite. His eyes roll back in his head as he chews. “Why are these even better now?”

I giggle, but my ego is definitely boosted. “Because you’re drunk.”

“Not as much as Derek,” he protests, proving my point. “You really shouldn’t mess with him like that in his state. He’s been single for too long of a period now. He might accidentally fall in love with you.”

“Yeah, okay,” I laugh sarcastically. “I thought I was… what was it you said?” I pause, smiling too sweetly to drive the point home. “Infuriating.”

His tongue slips along his lower lip as he tries to hide his smile. “Yeah, but that makes for the best sex, right?”

His smile drops immediately and his eyes grow wide like he can’t believe he just said that out loud. My mouth drops open to respond, but it takes me a moment to process what’s going on. “Uhm… yes.”

He clears his throat, stepping back from the counter. “Yeah, see, and do you really want Derek cock all inside of you?”
