She went inside and was at her desk for maybe five minutes before Sarah poked her head into her classroom. “After school, I want to hear everything about this tour you took last night.”

“Me? Kiss and tell? Never.”

“Yeah, okay,” Sarah said sarcastically, before she disappeared back down the hall.

Meegan had one of the best teaching days of her life. She was in a great mood and the kids were, too. They loved the crayons and watercolors, and the good vibes carried right into little Isabella’s afternoon birthday celebration. Her mom showed up with cupcakes, enough for everyone and Mrs. Brown’s class across the hall. Isabella asked her mom to confirm her claims that there was, in fact, an iguana living in their house and Meegan took that opportunity to ask the kids what other kinds of reptiles they knew about. It was a Friday mood on a Wednesday and Meegan wouldn’t change it. Not one bit.

Sarah had a super serious emergency parent conference because one of her kids pulled some serious fuck shit during lunch, so they would have to do their debrief later. When she climbed in the car, she texted the girls back, thanking them for their congratulations on the cute boyfriend news. They all seemed to be in agreement that the ladies who hadn’t met him yet were absolutely ready to meet him. They needed to evaluate him personally, even though Keira and Xeni had already given their stamp of approval. Keira sent a voice memo to their private conversation, screaming and congratulating her on the fancy new hardware and the proper Dominant to call her own.

Meegan did the right and not even a little bit horny thing and didn’t text Olin all day. Not even during her breaks. He texted her, though.

I hope you’re having a good day, Kitten.

And then, during Isabella's epic birthday party.

Second meeting is running long.

Sitting through a horrible presentation.

Text me when you get home.

Meegan hadn’t forgotten about her daily assignment. She stopped by Trader Joe’s—currently in their most robust ravioli season—and headed back home to send Olin some filthy texts. She changed out of her work clothes into some soft lounge pants and a matching sweatshirt, because LA winter had definitely settled in and she knew she wasn’t going out for the rest of the night.

She grabbed something to drink and set her giant teddy bear on the couch to use as a body pillow. It was as soft as it was big and it looked hilariously adorable wearing the pink strap-on harness. She turned on her TV and found some reruns ofTheGolden Girlsbefore finally texting Olin back.

I’m home, Mr. Wayne.

I had a great day thanks to you.

Tell those fools to stop wasting your time.

She settled more comfortably against her bear and watched Rose and Blanche being held up at gunpoint by a guy in a bootleg Santa suit before she looked back at her phone. She had a fantasy in mind, but she wondered if it was too long to type.

Call me when you’re free.

I want to tell you about my fantasy.

It’s a long one.

Meegan set down her phone and half paid attention toTheGolden Girls. It was another quality episode, but all she could think about was what she needed to tell Olin. She turned to the local news and made her ravioli while listening to reports on a vacant retail space fire in the Valley. Her phone rang just as she finished off her plate with a brown butter sauce. She grabbed her phone and smiled as OLIN BREIVIK lit up the screen. She hit accept and didn’t even try to keep the smile off her face.

“Hello,” she said sweetly.

“Kitten.” Meegan melted at the sound of his voice. She was so far gone. “Sorry for making you wait. That meeting went so bad, I had to jump on a call about it after.”

“Anything you can share?”

“Top secret stuff. Terrible, poorly thought out, doomed to fail, top secret stuff, but not mine to share, nonetheless.”

“Ah, I see. Where are you now?”

“In the car. I wanted to be at my dad’s three hours ago. Shitty meeting blew that plan out of the water. I'm gonna be in traffic until next Monday.”

“At least,” Meegan laughed.

“But, I’m alone. Is there something you want to tell me?”
