“Which Olin refused to let us help pay for,” Marcos said, rolling his eyes. Shep held up a Kings jersey with the number 1 and KITTEN stitched into the name bar.

“Oh my god,” Meegan laughed as Shep handed it over. She realized then that Keira, Claudia and Nilah had jerseys of their own tucked under their arms. Grant had an extra jersey over his shoulder, hopefully for Violet.

“Here’s yours, Coach.” Daniel tossed Olin a jersey of his own. He held it up so Meegan could see the 2 and the MR. WAYNE.

“Oh, so you’re truly Batman now,” Meegan choked with laughter.

Olin just shrugged, a little smile touching his face. “Something like that.”

“Thank you guys again. This was—it was amazing. Grant, I’m so sorry Violet couldn’t make it.”

“That’s what the tape is for. She’ll watch it and then ask me if she can star in the next one.”

“I know that’s right,” Claudia said under her breath. Shep let out a deep grunt. She smiled up at him and tugged his beard.

“We’re gonna help DJ PP load out and then, I don’t know about y’all, but I’m starving,” Marcos said.

Everyone could agree with that.

“Pancakes?” Claudia suggested.

“Yessss,” Meegan replied, her stomach rumbling. “Definitely pancakes.”

Olin had hired cleaners to come in that evening, but they still tidied up. With everyone pitching in, the platform was stripped and wiped down, and Angel—DJ Pussay Pop’s real name—was all loaded up. Austin assured Daniel he’d have the full footage over to him by the morning. They’d agreed it would be added to the secure storage, with everyone involved granted access.

They found the closest IHOP and had another raucous party in the back, filled with laughter and all the pancakes they could handle. When Daniel and Keira finally had to leave, to get ready for another Saturday night at The Club, Meegan was ready to admit that she needed a nap. They said their goodbyes and climbed into Olin’s car.

Meegan couldn’t keep her eyes off of him as he drove them back toward his house in Venice. He’d given her the fantasy and he’d given something special to her friends. It had been intense and dirty, silly and over the top, just the way she wanted her sex life to be. And he was taking her home, not dropping her off and tucking her in with an “I’ll see you next week” and a kiss on the forehead. She got to be with him.

“I can’t believe you did this,” she said.

“You said you wanted to be spoiled. I’m just doing my job. You want to know something funny? That black throne chair?”

“Yeah.”

“It came with the space. They used it in some porn called ‘The Devil Went Down on Georgia’.”

“Oh my god,” Meegan burst out laughing. “A piece of history.”

“Apparently.”

“Are you gonna marry me?” Meegan teased, kinda.

“Yup.”

Olin reached over and took her hand, brushing his lips over her knuckles. Meegan sighed and settled back into her seat. She couldn’t wait to spend the rest of her life with him, after they picked up Pam.

epilogue

June 20th of that year…

Olin sat abandoned at their assigned table, a shockingly heavy child fast asleep on his chest. It had been a long time since he’d held a kid, but there was some peace in it. Especially since the kid was sleeping, which was impressive because the sounds of “Back that Azz Up” threatened to shake the reception tent loose from its pegs.

He looked across the dance floor at Meegan, as she laughed and danced with her cousins.

It had been a busy weekend. Flying to Turks and Caicos for Dunia’s, staying out of the way when he needed to and being an extra set of hands when Meegan’s aunts needed anything. He’d really won them over when he’d convinced the hotel management to throw in free massages for the whole bridal party when they learned that the venue planner had ordered the wrong flowers.

Meegan’s cousin Daisy had been pissed when she found out he was coming along, since she was supposed to get Meegan all to herself. She forgave him, though, when he introduced her to his brother Wes, who fell instantly in love. A pending divorce didn’t bother Wes one bit. Daisy was smart, mature and funny. She knew what she wanted and Wes seemed to fit the bill. Olin smiled to himself as he caught sight of his brother on the dance floor, shamelessly grinding against Daisy’s behind. Daisy didn’t seem to mind at all.
