If I was gauging anything off our encounter the other night . . . well, Siena and I were both royally screwed. Now I just had to figure out how to get us through this in one piece. With my heart intact.

I checkedmy teeth in the mirror, thinking of the other night when I’d gotten the kiss of my fucking life.

I was looking forward to another round.

I needed to talk with her about our itinerary anyway. This was the perfect excuse. I knew I could text or call, but I didn’t want to give her a chance to evade me. At least this way—going to see her face to face—I’d be able to gauge her reaction.

There she was. The sight of her took my breath away. What was it about her that could make me feel like a freaking teenager?

I watched as she talked to customers, smiling and laughing. She was in her element. Her dark brown hair was pulled into a messy knot on top of her head, loose strands hanging down, framing her beautiful olive skin. Even in a work shirt, she looked phenomenal.

Yep, I definitely met my match.

“Can I get you a glass of our Guilty Pleasures?” Jenny was staring at me with a smirk on her face.

“I’m sorry? What?” I asked, thinking about Jax and how guilty I should feel for setting this whole charade up. But I didn’t care. I had to have her.

“Guilty Pleasures,” she said as she looked from me to Siena. My gaze followed hers. I felt even more guilty as my thoughts turned seductive. “Guilty Pleasures is one of our best sellers, dark ruby-colored wine with flavors of black plum, raspberry, jasmine, and black pepper. It’s a syrah, pairs well with meat dishes like lamb and beefcake . . . I mean beef,” she said with a giggle.

“That’s a powerful sell. How can I resist?”

“You can’t,” she said with a laugh. “Anything else?”

I shook my head and watched as she sauntered past Siena, whispering something as she grabbed a bottle and a glass. Jenny had a mischievous grin on her face. Siena looked at me, a hint of a smile on her lips.

Jenny filled my glass. “Enjoy,” she said with a wink, a playful cadence in her voice.

Twenty-five minutes later, two glasses of Guilty Pleasures in my system, alone with my thoughts, my mind was still fixated on one thing—the stunning Italian who was only a mere eight feet from me. I did my damnedest to play it cool like I was enjoying wine like everyone else.

A slight turn of her head and I couldn’t help but smile as our eyes met. She said something to her customers, laughed at their replies, then turned and walked straight to me.

“Hey stranger,” she said. Her voice was sultry. It wasn’t intentional, but her voice just had that sound of sex and seduction. I felt a wave of relief wash over me. We were good. The other night hadn’t changed anything, except for the better.

“Hi.” I cleared my throat. I had a slight buzz from the wine. “How’s everything going?”

“Been busy.”

“Busy is good.”

“Yeah. So, um,”—she examined my glass—“Guilty Pleasures, huh? You like it?”

I tilted my head, leaned in, turned up my smile. “Are you flirting with me? Trying to seduce me?”

She laughed, cheeks turning pink. “Very cute. But not while I’m on the clock.”

I sat back, held her gaze, swirling the rich red wine in my glass by its stem. “What time do you get off then?”

A laugh lit up her face, her eyes flashing the same way they did right before she kissed me the other night. “You know what time I get off,” she said, holding my gaze.

“That I do. What are your plans after work?”

“Dinner, packing, getting ready for San Francisco,” she replied, a bit too casual for my taste.

I couldn’t tell if she was blowing me off or just playing the game. Either way, I could play too. “Speaking of which, I brought you a copy of the itinerary.” I reached into my back pocket, pulled out the papers, and sent a silent thanks to Jax. “Everything’s there,” I said, sliding them to her.

She skimmed over the pages. “You got separate rooms?”
