“Someone had an eventful morning,” he smirks. “Let’s go shower.”

My feet obey without hesitation. We spend an hour in the shower until the water runs cold and my legs tremble from how many times Eli brings me to orgasm. As badly as I want to be filled with more than just his fingers, he doesn’t push me, reading my body enough to know I’m already going to be sore from Ax earlier.

After leaving me to go dress, I pull on clothing and head to the kitchen as I braid my hair. Asher grins at me hungrily and my clit throbs, begging for a break. I chuckle as he pulls me into his lap and I steal his coffee.

“If we weren’t already running late, I’d be bending you over this table,” he warns me.

I gasp at his bluntness; apparently the three have given up hiding their feelings whether emotional or physical. I’ll have to work to rid my own shy awkwardness. Ax said to let them handle how it’ll all work, and even though I am still stuck in my head with the logistics, my heart and body are perfectly okay with clinging to all three of them.

“You’ll have to just think of me all day,” I tease him and he groans.

I kiss him once more as Eli and Ax enter the kitchen. Asher and Eli disappear to the garage as Ax leans over the counter, eyeing me.

“I need to know what you want to do about your dad, princess.”

His words are like a bucket of ice water bringing me back to reality. I frown and he smiles sadly.

“I know, ruined your morning didn’t I?” He sighs, and I nod. “It’s your choice.”

“I’m not going to tell you to kill him,” I snap.

“Didn’t think you would. But if you never see him again, are you going to hate me again?”

“I never hated you,” I whisper and he shrugs.

“I can handle this on my own, Katie. I just don’t want to worry about keeping any more secrets from you.”

“I don’t want to know,” I realize. “Whether you pay him to never come near me again or scare him to disappear or… or…” I eye him and shake my head. “I just don’t want to know.”

“Do you want to come to confront him?”

I shake my head. “You were right. Nothing he says will matter. He has a way of giving you just enough to keep you hanging on, hoping that he might be a better person than he is. Every time he shows his true colors it just breaks my heart a little more to the point it won’t ever fully recover.”

My fists clench as I picture my mother. I hear her begging him. I don’t want to dishonor her memory by giving him a chance to seek my forgiveness. There is no forgiving what he’s done.

Ax tucks hair behind my ear and kisses my cheek. “I’ll text Bianca to come keep you company. Red is pulling up now, he’s staying with you while we are gone.”

“Don’t forget me,” someone says and I turn to see Edgar. “I'm old, not dead yet though.”

I laugh at him shaking my head. I have barely seen him, I hardly think Ax employs him for anything other than the benefit of knowing he cares about me.

“You stay here,” Ax warns me and glances at Edgar who nods. “We will be back later, baby.”

He heads to the garage after laying a kiss on my lips and then winks as my face reddens knowing Edgar just saw. I eye the old man nervously and he chuckles. “I don’t need to know the details,” he tells me quickly.

I get up from my seat and wrap my arms around him. He seems surprised but hugs me back.

“Thank you, Edgar. For being the dad I never had.”

“You’ll always have me, Miss Katelyn.”

CHAPTER THIRTY NINE

AX

The drive to the warehouse takes over an hour. In the meantime Asher sends Roy and Colt down to the bar to get it open while I send the dreaded text to my mom asking to meet up with her and that piece of shit husband of hers.

“You really gonna do that?” Eli asks from beside me as I send off the text.
