“Your psychiatrist will be coming tomorrow. I’ve already informed her I will be away but to call and give me an update.”

“What a miracle I survived four years overseas without you,” I hiss at him.

“Katelyn—“ he starts but my chest tightens.

“Who did you call?”

Mary-Mae chuckles softly. “Not who you are hoping for, I’m sure,” she whispers far too loudly.

It falls silent as my father and I have a silent stare down. I don’t even care that the three goons and Mother May I are watching.

“There will be no more drama from this point forward,” he says carefully with a warning in his tone. “I’ll hear no more nonsense. You are an adult and it’s time you start acting like it.”

I smirk and without thinking the words fall from my mouth. “Are you at least going to give me a run down of which stories to tell this doctor?”

My father glances briefly towards Ax, but before he can try to think of something, Ax interrupts him.

“Stories?” He asks through gritted teeth.

I’m surprised his anger is directed straight to my father instead of me. My father looks nervously at him before smoothing it over with a glare.

Mary-Mae clears her throat.

“Katelyn has a thing for doctors,” she says softly. “It seems to be PTSD related. This whole type of… savior thing. She has made a habit of making up stories to increase her therapy sessions.”

I’m so caught off guard by her comment and the utter bullshit coming from her mouth that words don’t even form on my lips as I just gawk at her. By the time my brain catches up, my fists clench with the urge to strangle the stupid bitch with her fake blonde hair.

“Just tell them the truth, dear,” she says, turning back to me with a glint in her eye. “You are still healing from your mother’s tragic death. But you’ve done great these last four years submerging yourself in your music. And of course, you always have your meds if you need them. The boys know how to administer it in an emergency. Now, let’s go Stephen, or we are going to miss our flight.”

It’s silent as their footsteps disappear and I am left standing in the room dumbstruck. Ax glances at me and I glare at him, daring him to say something.

“So, we're calling bullshit right?” Asher says laughing. “I mean doctor kink is cool and all but—”

“Everything out of Mary-Mae’s mouth is bullshit,” Eli finishes for him and they both chuckle.

“I’m beginning to think the entire Randell family spews nothing but bullshit,” Ax says, still watching me far too intently.

“Get out of my room.”

He looks like he wants to argue but Eli shoves him. “Let’s go, you owe me a round of pool to win my money back.”

When the door is finally closed, I lock it before sighing heavily.

Two more years.

I just need to put up with this shit show for another two years.

CHAPTER THREE

I wake the next morning with a groan. Someone is banging on the door and the overly pink room sparkles with the sunlight. I drag myself to the door, flinging it open to glare at whoever woke me.

Eli grins down at me as his eyes skate over my body, reminding me I’m wearing only a t-shirt and panties.

“What the fuck do you want?” I snap at him.

He chuckles. “Morning to you too, sunshine,” he grins. “Your doctor is here. Do you want to get dressed or should I just send her up?” He asks, winking at me.

“I’ll be down in a minute.”
