“Bank accounts,” he says as though it’s the most normal thing in the world.

My mouth drops. “Are you stealing money?!” I shout and Ax shakes his head, laughing softly at me.

“You think so little of us?” Asher jokes.

I shoot a nasty look at him and his face falters. He says nothing more as he sips his drink and Eli just frowns.

“Not stealing,” Ax says, breaking the tension. “Tracking.”

“How do bank accounts help you track?”

“You can follow the movements of a person based on the timestamp and location of where they spent their money,” Colt explains.

He points to a map on the screen where a red dot seems to be scattered and moving across a map.

“And you’re stalking someone because…?” I ask but Colt just looks at Eli who glances at Ax.

Ax says nothing and I roll my eyes.

“End of that conversation, I guess.”

“Your new phone is in your room,” Asher finally says. “Along with some mail.”

I look at him confused. Who the fuck would be sending me mail? I don’t ask though, taking his comment as being a polite way to ask me to leave the room. I can take a hint, if they are doing some sketchy stuff I don’t want to be involved anyway.

I have enough drama to deal with as it is.

I find the phone on my bed already set up with the guys’ numbers along with Bianca’s number. I text her to say hey and tell her to save this number instead. While waiting for a reply I glance at the large manila envelope. I pull it open and it takes a little bit to process what I’m even reading.

Katelyn Elizabeth Randell,

We are pleased to inform you of your acceptance into John Wilton’s Community College.

I read it five times.

Then another three.

When did I apply to college?

I grab up the papers and make my way back downstairs to interrupt the guys. But when I get to the kitchen, they don’t seem like they are even in the middle of anything all that important and Asher eyes me. “Everything alright?” He asks, suspiciously.

“Do you know anything about this?” I ask, glancing at the other guys briefly but turning my attention back to Asher as he is the only one grinning at me.

Eli and Ax look at him confused and then Eli takes the envelope from my hands. “You got into college? That’s awesome, Kate!“

“I didn’t even apply,” I tell them, shaking my head.

Asher just chuckles. “I may have applied for you.”

I stand there dumbstruck and shake my head again trying to find words. “But, how? Why?”

“It was easy. And because you wanted something to do, right?”

“Asher that’s nice but… I can’t…”

“Did you finish reading it all?” He asks with a smug look.

Eli takes out the rest of the papers and brochures and lays them on the island as Colt goes back to his work on the computer. The guys all gather around to look as Asher sifts through the papers before passing one over to me.
