Kenji slid his arm around Tido’s shoulders. “You laid down the law, hon. He has to obey or be killed.”

“Really?” Tido’s brows shot up.

“Nah.” Kenji grinned. “But thanks for kicking him out of the pack. That’ll make our lives so much easier.”

“Because running an entire town will be easy?” Tido groaned. “What have I gotten myself into? I should’ve given William the knife to kill Luther and Kramer.”

“You’re gonna be great.” Kenji kissed Tido’s temple.

Kenji had started out with a stalker neighbor and had found the love of his life. Tido thought he wouldn’t be up for the job to rule over their pack, but Kenji had confidence that Tido would shine.

“I must have lost my mind,” Tido said as he paced his living room, Kenji sitting on the couch. “I’m not a leader. Did I really kick someone out of the pack? Oh fuck. I don’t think I can do this, Kenji.”

He still couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that he’d killed two guys. Just thinking about it made him feel queasy all over again. He also couldn’t believe he’d flexed on Maceson. Tido had never stood up to an enemy before. Though it did feel good to put Maceson in his place. The guy had had a smug look when he’d told Kenji that they should celebrate. Tido had wanted to bitch-slap the bastard.

Kenji reached out and pulled Tido onto his lap. “We’ll do it as a team.”

Tido was going to vomit thinking of running a wolf pack. “But I thought you said you never wanted to return there.”

His mate shrugged. “Because of the way Luther and Kramer were running things.”

“You said you didn’t want to be alpha.” Tido had to find a way out of this.

“Because my head wasn’t in the right place.”

He slapped Kenji’s chest. “Will you stop having an answer for everything?”

Kenji curled his hand around Tido’s. “Will you stop freaking out?”

“That pack isn’t going to listen to me,” Tido argued. “They’ll kick my ass and send me packing.”

“I’d like to see them try,” Kenji snarled. “Besides, you’ll have William as your beta.”

Tido gave his mate a look that said he was crazy. “William is a twink, Kenji.”

“So are you,” Kenji pointed out. “A stubborn, but fair, sexy, strong man that will keep that pack together. And if anyone steps a paw out of line, William and I will kick their ass.”

Tido frowned. “You’re serious about all of this.”

“I am.” Kenji nibbled his way down Tido’s neck.

“Stop trying to distract me,” Tido moaned. “It’s n-not going to w-work.”

“I think it will.” Kenji stood, his arms around Tido. Tido squealed, and Kenji took him to the bedroom. “Besides, our honeymoon was interrupted. I have a lot to make up for.”

When they entered the bedroom, Kenji fell forward onto the bed, taking Tido down with him. Kenji was smiling, and that smile only reminded Tido just how utterly handsome Kenji truly was.

“You’re not going to convince me to take that position, Kenji.”

“We’ll see,” Kenji said, his lips twitching with amusement. He moved to the bed and straddled Tido, his gaze darkening in a way that made Tido’s heart beat faster. “I’m going to try my best to make you see the merits of this.”

Kenji trailed his lips along Tido’s jaw then his neck until Tido was arching against him, wanting more. The guy was taking his time, exploring every inch of Tido’s body, and Tido was helpless to do anything but allow him to do as he pleased.

And he loved it. Tido loved an aggressive lover who knew how to take charge. Tido was not only passive in his everyday life but in the bedroom as well, and he liked a guy who knew what he was doing.

He also like the fact that Kenji could make him scream. Tido might have argued once that quiet sex didn’t equal bad sex, but he’d been lying his ass off. He’d just never had anyone make his toes curl the way Kenji did.
