“The address, Sienna,” I snarled.

“I’m getting there,” she said. “But I have to tell you everything first. I can’t have you ending the call without all the information you need. We’re missing something about this whole scenario. It makes sense why he’d want you dead, but it’s more than that. He’s too fixated on this. He’s almost fanatical. This is his endgame, Dante, and if he can take you out, he’ll stop at nothing.”

“We already knew that,” I told her. “I’ll be careful.”

“We didn’t.Ididn’t. There’s more to it. He was angry that you swayed me away from him. He’s angry because of me. He said that you stole me from him, and I don’t know what I’m missing. If I did—” She cut herself off. “You have to be cautious. We can’tget out without the complex being cleared first, or I’d be risking both our lives. I can’t fight well enough to guarantee my safety or Bria’s. We need you.”

Then, finally, she relayed the address and all also she knew of the defenses. The people who were stationed in buildings across the street. The patrols she remembered. All of it.

But as I ended the call, I had a sinking feeling that I knew what she was missing. Sienna had no idea how stunning and cunning she was. She certainly didn’t realize that a man like Valentino had likely plucked her from her tragic backstory with intentions other than creating a weapon.

The thought sickened me, so I shoved it aside as I got to planning.

***

Sienna hadgravelyunderexaggerated the place’s defenses. After twenty minutes of Justin’s deep-dive into it, we realized just how impossible it would be to get them out. From the hundred guards and the newly installed motion detectors, I decided the only way inside would be to be led inside.

The only way to be led into that house would be through Valentino himself.

I sat on a motorcycle across the street from the nearest patrols of the compound and hit the dial button on my phone.

It rang once before a harsh tone answered. “What?”

“Valentino Accardi,” I drawled in my most even tone. “I’ve heard you’re looking for me.”

“Fucking Guerra,” he snarled. “Are you planning on showing your face before I kill one of the two girls in my basement right now? Or are you going to continue destroying my assets and killing my men out of spite?”

If I had it my way, I’d destroy everything he knew and loved before taking him down, but he’d gone to great lengths to get leverage over me.

Now, it was my turn.

“I thought it would only be fair to have a discussion first. Man to man.”

“There’s nothing left to discuss.”

I smirked, even though he couldn’t see me. “Maybe not with me,” I retorted. “But rumor has it, you have a federal agent playing hide and seek in your current ranks. He’s hidden extremely well, and my men were lucky to spot him. I think that’s information you could use.”

“I don’t have any fucking agents in my ranks.”

“Don’t worry. I don’t expect you to take my word for it,” I told him. “I have my guys sending a video of an interrogation we recently had. I’ll let you take a look.”

He went silent, and I knew he was checking the newest message on his phone, courtesy of Justin. It wasn’t a falsity. In fact, we’d found out about the infiltration months ago when we found onein our own ranks. We’d interrogated the man and learned just how efficiently they did their jobs.

We learned alotabout Valentino’s inner workings from that interrogation. Things that only another insider would know.

It took a few minutes before he spoke. “Give me a name.”

“I will. As soon as I see that they’re alive.”

It was a gamble, but it was the best one I had to offer. If I couldn’t make it inside alone, I needed another way. He wanted me dead more than anything, but the information I had was worth enough that he wouldn’t do it immediately.

I hoped.

“You want video proof?”

“I’m outside your fucking gates, and I want to be let inside to see for myself. Then, the information is yours.”

The call ended immediately, and I leaned on my bike, taking inventory of all of my weapons. Three firearms—one on a back holster, one on my hip, and one hidden at my ankle. A dozen blades in different forms. Brass knuckles in my pocket.
